Yamaha quality
It was all appreciation for me. First a really excellent instrument. Easy to play. Great sound quality good keyboard action. I haven’t played cheaper instruments but I think this is worth it. With regards to the case, I don’t understand what people are complaining about. This is as strong as any of my keyboard cases. I think if they’re that concerned, they should buy a metal case. It looks stout to me.On the lower notes, one can really do vibrato with breadth variation. The higher breeds are a little more reluctant to shift but it’s worth a shot. Great instrument!

Nice smooth tone!
This Red Pianica (P-37ERD) has by far the smoothest timbre of any melodica I've played. I have several melodicas (Yamaha, Suzuki, Hohner) and this beats them all tone-wise.Most melodicas have a very harsh, edgy sound that can grate on the ears if you play them too loudly or close to your ears.Yamaha has managed to smooth out the harshness on this model.Like all new melodicas this one will need to be fine-tuned if you're picky about intonation. I have yet to buy a melodica that didn't need some tweaking in it's tuning, and this one is no exception. If you're not as picky as I am you'll be fine with it right out of the box.

Desde que la tengo la amo! Es un instrumento maravilloso de sonido claro y con un lindo color que hace que me emocione al tocarla. Tiene la calidad indiscutible de Yamaha, es una melódica muy bien afinada, cosa que muchas no tienen, es cómoda y suena de lo mejor. La conservaré muchos años conmigo porque no hay otra igual, viva Yamaha!

nice tone, lousy keyboard
This is a new model of the Yamaha P37D, which I also own along with several other high-quality melodicas. The tone is improved over the previous model in my opinion, but the keyboard action is the worst of any melodica I have played. The keys have a slight sticking at the beginning of motion, that prevents precise air control for note bending, and they are excessively noisy. I do not enjoy playing it.
