I've used these stencils with the Fabriano EcoQua A5 Notebook and the SuperiorMaker DotGrid Spiral Bound Notebook.While they're both labeled as "A5", the Fabriano is 6.25" wide, while the SuperiorMaker is 5.75". This stencil set is ALSO about 5.75" wide, give or take some change... which means that the same stencils that fit like a breeze in the Fabriano A5 (pictures 3), and are too wide for the SuperiorMaker A5 (picture 4). I was able to still find ways to use them in the SuperiorMaker, but it does require some extra drafting and kinda defeats the "trace and go" purpose of a layout stencil.Ultimately, I think the problem here isn't with inconsistency in the stencils, but over what exact measurements classify as an "A5 size" notebook or journal. Before purchasing any stencils, take the time to measure the usable page-space (i.e. not where the binding is) for the notebook you intend to use them in. The measurements on the product page are likely going to be based on the overall or exterior size, so they may not give you the exact information you need.As for using the stencils themselves -- well, they're awesome for organizing D&D notes and putting together quick character-build reference sheets! I really didn't expect to find most of these layouts useful, but turns out that they're good for getting a bunch of details into a compact space. The components mix and match well, allowing a lot of flexibility for custom layouts. The plastic is thin and requires some care around the smaller divisions.Even so, I wouldn't call them overly flimsy. Think of them as washable paper stencils and you'll be fine. I recommend using pens with quick-drying inks that don't flow too heavily. I prefer to write with gel pens and ballpoints that gush ink because I'll push too hard otherwise, but these will bleed under the edges of the stencils and smear like crazy if you aren't careful.In short, I recommend these! Just remember to measure those notebooks.

I wish these were a little thicker and more sturdy. However, there are some really nice layouts, and you can see pencil marks through the stencils, which is convenient, too.

I bought this not knowing what a size A5 was.The quality of the stencil is great. Very well cut and sturdy.The variety was exactly what I needed but they were too wide for the pages of my book.So... be sure to know what size you really need.They were so good, I kept them and just ordered another one, this time, an A4.

I decided to try using a bullet journal to help me keep track of my various projects and saw these stencils. They had the list making stencil I wanted as well as other features. These stencils are not hard plastic. They are flexible so when using them, you have to hold the stencil very firmly to avoid your pen from going under the stencil or to prevent it from moving.I should have gone with the hard plastic and more expensive ones but I didn't want to make the investment. For my purposes, they are fine. I am using quite a few of the shapes and am quieting the perfectionist in me.If you are truly a perfectionist, go for the hard ones. Otherwise, they are okay

This set was pretty much an impulse purchase, and it turned out to be a really nifty set of templates for all kinds of things. Lately I've been using them for watercolor swatchcards I've made. I am loving the fact that if you find what works for your current need, you can likely find it in several sizes. So handy!These stencils are on a nice, sturdy plastic and not one of them had me feeling fearful of tearing anything.

I use these often and teens love them.
