Savadicar Gas Cap Cover Non-Locking Fuel Tank Door for 2018-2020 Jeep Wrangler JL 4-Door 2-Door, ABS + Aluminum Alloy Construction, Black

Pops out and It won't fit properly, I even cut the sides of the plastic just to fit in but it didn't work, and one more thing that I hate is the lock is too short to snap.

This seller NEEDS to re-due this listing! They had it set up for selling covers for the JK's but now they are selling them for JL's using this same listing. There is a size difference! Most of the reviews are still for JK's before the JL came in to being starting to be made in the middle of 2018. The more recent reviews and pictures for owners of the newer JL models are accurate so pay attention to ONLY those reviews. This is a GREAT cover and seems to be very well made, but will only work on a JL. Their listing pictures are good except for the one which shows the measurements. They need to change that one because the measurements shown are still for the smaller cover that fits the JK models; 6.49 inches in diameter. The cover you will receive now is 7 1/8 inches in diameter since it is made for the JL models because the hole in the side of the JL Jeep is larger. I have a 2019 JL 4 door Sport S so this cover worked great and was easy to install once I managed to get the non-covered fuel ring setup removed, which was not real easy to do. Once that was done though putting this cover in was very easy and fit perfectly. Ok, got it installed with no trouble. However, the instructions do not indicate which way the gasket is supposed to face, and it does make a difference. So, I tried both ways, and then selected one with the chamfer facing towards to gas tube in the Jeep. Once installed, the door did not close all the way, but with some strong pushing on the gas tube, it had clearance. The gas cap retainer is now too short, it was fine with the original setup, and the too-short retainer interferes with turning the gas cap to remove and replace the cap. This cover should come with a longer replacement retainer. There is also a small amount of play in the gas door hinge. Seems like the spring should be stronger. Looks good, but not fully satisfied with final fit and finish. If it wasn't so much trouble to remove, I'd send it back and try another from a difference vendor.

Looked great when I got it, instructions clear enough, took about 5 minutes to install. It snapped right into place and feels pretty solid. For the price compared to others this thing is a steal. Time will tell how it holds up but for now it looks great and feels good.

This is a phenomenal value compared to what MOPAR and others charge for essentially the same item. Looks much better than the stock, non-covered gas cap. While it's not extremely complicated to install, it's not exactly easy, either — you have to remove you rear taillight and fumble around inside the back frame for clips that take a lot of pressure to release. A little nerve-wracking, especially if your Jeep is brand new.

Instructions were decent but showed just 2 clips to release the factory plastic insert. My 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sport S had 4 clips. The back 2 were a real pain to get to and get released. The tolerances on the new part were just ok and it took work to get the new clips locked in. Once installed though it fits tightly and looks good.
