Head 'em up, move' em out! Excellent stuff!
I hesitated buying this as I was expecting at least one disc to be either scratched or faulty but thankfully they were all fine. I can't recommend this enough. I've seen episodes before of course but never all the seasons from start to finish. First the only negative comment. Season 8 is disappointing for many reasons but especially because Eric Fleming (Gil Favor) and James Murdock (Mushy) were fired and the stories were largely uninspiring. Not the actors fault. No explanation in the show as to where Favor and Mushy had gone which was ridiculous. Wishbone looks lost without Mushy. Now for the good news. The other 7 Seasons are fantastic. Watching it now I was amazed at how gritty and realistic it is. The acting is excellent especially Eric Fleming and Clint Eastwood but also Sheb Wooley and Paul Brinegar. In fact Brinegar is sensational as Wishbone. He steals every scene he's in. There is a real heart to this show and along with Gunsmoke should be recognised as the best TV Westerns of all time. Great characters, great stories....would have loved to have seen it in colour but maybe it's the B/W that adds to the whole atmosphere. Love it. 100 % recommended.

I was a young boy when this wonderful series first aired in the UK
I was a young boy when this wonderful series first aired in the UK. When the theme tune began at the start of the show with Frankie Lane singing my mother used to say, "Right David!" This was the signal for me to go to bed and I had to miss the show. I was about five or six years old and if I remember correctly it went out on a Saturday evening in the 1950's on Granada Television. I saw the show regularly as I got older and it was a firm favourite of mine! Clint Eastwood is featured on all of the advertising as he became a major movie star in later years but Eric Fleming was the main star of this excellent TV show. It was a real tragedy that he was to lose his life shortly after "Rawhide" ended during the mid-1960's in a filming accident in Peru. Rawhide was a TV western classic and highly recommended!

Great viewing! Disappointing packaging.
Originally purchased season 1 12 years ago from Amazon. Then eventually seasons 2 then 3. Now starting watching season 4. Purchased complete series, as it was cheaper to buy then separate seasons. For me, the only downside is the packaging. The box which holds the 3 casings is very weak. You have to tip the box forward for all 3 casings to come out. Could have done with a lid. And there are too many discs confined to seasons 1-3, & 4-6, in the plastic casings.

Rawhide....the complete series.
Is this where the TV cowboy started? Where the trail boss rode others followed. It'll take months to get to the end but worth the viewing if you love 60's TV. Simple story lines, none of the red herring laden scripts of today's TV.Dated? maybe for some, but it is what it is.....then and now. Possibly the best of the TV westerns of that time?
