Thia is my second Yunguo flash unit. Gives off clean light, 5500k. Reliable and very few mis fires. Why spend double for a similar name brand unit? Rogue flash gals and flash bender fit nicely. Connects seamlessly to the Yungnuo 622tx with its built-in receiver.

For the price you pay, the performance is identical compared to the others that are much more expensive! Would definitely buy again.

This is my 3rd Yongnuo flash, my second 685. No complaints with them. They are much cheaper than the Canon flashes.I highly recommend these flashes and if I have a need for more flashes, I'll be buying Yongnuo again.

Good flash, fairly reliable, but required batteries (AA) don't last very long.

Very easy to use, and no cords have been great.

I like that the flash has HSS which can go to a maximum shutter of about 8000 if I’m not mistaken, which covers everything; not having the user to worry about those black lines on their images caused by too fast a shutter speed that the flash can’t handle. The battery life I haven’t had the time to fully assess because I only tested it once. Overall I would say it’s too overpriced for such a poorly written manual in English.Rating one star because the manual has everything that’s already so convoluted for the 685 alone written, even though the cover page shows manual for the 685 II (the version I purchased). Even further down the rabbit hole it shows what flash triggers work for the 685 alone in the manual and not the version II which I had. So I went ahead and purchased what the manual says is compatible and for nothing can it work. Why? Because the manual is misleading on all fronts.This brand definitely needs to do better. It’s my fourth from from them and this is the most expense and by far the worst experience. I definitely wouldn’t be purchasing this brand ever again. Don’t waste your time, spend the extra or even less and get something that’s worth your money and is well outlaid in English. Forget Yongnuo that’s gets you spending excessive money on other accessories that can’t work because they have failed to explain everything in English and are taking manuals for previous versions and not updating them to suit the newer models. Misleading folks.
