Material = A, design = A, Assembly = B, Comfort = A, finishing = C-I'm an experienced DIY home owner so I opted for the 'unstained' bench in order to choose my own color. I would not do that again. I like that the bench comes mostly assembled. There are four main pieces: seat, back and two ends. So I was happy that I didn't have to assemble, board by board, the seat and back. [Relatively] easy to assemble if all the pre-drilled holes line up. Mine were just slightly misaligned in a few spots but I managed fine. I could see where there might be worse alignment depending on quality control and that could require re-drilling.So, I opted for the unfinished bench in order to choose my own stain. I used an exterior, brush-on stain. Because the seat and back slats are all in place, with gaps between each, as you brush the stain on, it naturally drips/runs onto the other side of the slats. So, make sure you start on the visible/exposed side of the slats so when it drips/runs onto the back/underside, it won't be visible. That is to say, while you stain the front side, those drips/runs begin to stain the other side, so when you're ready to do that back side, it's possible to have visible drip/run spots/streaks as you finish staining. If you're fast, you can minimize that. I suppose too, if you use a 'spray on' stain, you can avoid that altogether. I had existing stain in a can to match other projects that I'd done. Anyway, it was a little messy. I then spray sealed the bench after drying with spar varnish. Spraying if definitely easier. It looks and feels good.Save the cardboard box it comes in to use if assembling on concrete or other rough/dirty surface, especially if you buy the pre-stained bench. You can also use the cardboard when staining or spray sealing. If you had to remove any screws, they are torx-head screws. Once assembled and finished, the arms flat and wide enough to set a bottle, can or glass on.

After killing all the brush mixed with poison ivy to repair the fence that separates our yard from the public trail, I thought it would be nice to add a little garden with a bench for people to rest at the 4-mile marker on our local bike trail. This bench looks beautiful and is quite comfortable to sit on. Perfect for what I wanted. I do plan to treat it for some added protection from the elements of our New England weather., but overall the quality seems great just as it is. Wasn’t hard to put together…. Two women got it done in less than 30 mins. And in the past 24 hours, multiple people have already stopped to rest on it…. Just as we intended!

Beautiful garden bench. Easy to assemble.One point was deducted because there are several small splits on the bench sheet where the screws seem to be too tight.But overall we are happy with this purchase.

He refused to take a picture because he doesn't have the muscles, he use to BUT! my husband is still handsomely big and tall. He stands 6'7 and his playing weight was 335 when he was younger (not sure what he weights 20+ years later but I can tell you he is bigger :). We have a hard time finding nice patio funiture to hold him. I have made the cinderblock furniture for him but it's not that comfortable and it make him feel like that's the only thing he can sit on.NOT anymore, I put this bench together by myself to surprise him. Because my husband stands so tall and his knees are kind of bad, he tends to flop down in a seat to remove tension on his knees. My big husband flopped down on the bench, and it brought me to tears because it's did not BEND! it did not make a cracking sound there was a bench for him!!!YAY. I stained it cherry brown and we named the Reggie White bench (Reggie White who played with Greenbay Packer) was a player who was the 1st man in the NFL to knock my husband down.Had this bench for a month and it's still pushing back and knocking the laugher out of my husband who sits in it everyday.Thank you for reading this review I plan to buy 2 more benches in the furniture (my sons are big too :)B

It came 6 days earlier. I put it together by myself. It took almost 2 hours, but I did it. Everything is very easy written.Even without a bench cushion, it is very comfortable.

Nice bench

Factory uses a banding machine and the 2 straps broke one of the slats. Fixed myself. Other wise looks nice. Easy to assemble but I would also recommend wood glue in the joints when assembling. After having less than year most of the wood slats warped and cracked. Screws rusted. Do not recommend this product poorly made.
