I actually had initiated a return for this toaster because first tryout was half a bagel using the ‘bagel’ button, setting on 4, and the bagel was beautifully toasted on one side and only lightly toasted on the other. So, immediately, I initiated a return. Then I thought, okay let me try an english muffin before I return it and sure enough, put english muffin in, used the ‘regular’ setting and cranked it up to ‘4’, and my muffin was perfectly toasted, all sides. SO what I think (and I probably should read the instruction manual lol) is that when using the bagel button, it will toast darker on one side & lighter on the other. In between all this experimentation I popped in a corn muffin top, perfectly toasted. Toasting capabilities aside, the toaster is really cute. Even my husband, who usually is oblivious to this sort of thing, said ‘honey that’s a cute toaster’ which makes me happy since I keep my toaster out on the counter. Very happy with this little appliance.

It's really nice looking AND functions well. I love the Frigidaire logo and the retro styling. The toast cooks evenly. Form and function- yay!

More than I normally spend on a toaster but it’s worth it. Toasts evenly. Looks cool.

It’s a cute toaster but it seems like no matter which setting you put it on the toast comes out either barely toasted or burnt. At level 3 the toast starts resembling charcoal. Level 2 and the bread just hints at toast (it comes out warm). I do like the bagel function on the toaster though

I haven't used a toaster in yrs., used the toaster oven. I must say this a great toaster, better than any of the ones I used before I started using the toaster ovens. A lady said it is the best she has had in 50 years, I had to try it, I am totally pleased, choose how dark, if frozen, there's a defrost & for me I like the slots, they accommodate wider & fatter bread slices. I lived the nostalgic times so that wasn't a big deal to me, it appears like an old-time radio sitting on the counter, with the black & whitish-gray speckles granite. Lastly, it does have a hidden pull-out slot to remove crumbs.

The media could not be loaded. The toaster looks so adorable but a toaster, no matter how cute, is there for the purpose of toasting your bread. I followed the “Before first use” instructions before toasting my whole wheat bread, let toaster cool before toasting and set the toaster to lowest level and toaster still burned my bread, mainly on the top edge. I will continue the use of the toaster for a couple more days, use a a different bread and see if the toasters performance improves, if it does I’ll update this review.UPDATE: It's been 7 days of daily use and the toaster hasn't improved, it’s still toasting bread way too much on level one setting. I Really want this toaster to work so I've ordered a replacement. Will update on replacements performance. Keeping my fingers crossed.UPDATE: Replacement came and also had the same issue. I’ve returned it and ordered a different brand. Disappointing.

Nice looking toaster. Makes toast very well. Just as good as the kitchenaid I replaced it with for 1/2 the price & about a pound less in weight.
