My cats LOVE them!
I've been buying Liv-a-littles for many years. I crumbled them on top of my cats' food when they started becoming too finicky. I was disappointed to find out that it is no longer being made and got these as a replacement. It's not just new packaging, it's a whole new product. For one thing the label just says dogs and doesn't include cats. 2nd-they are freeze dried raw and not dehydrated so they are moist and not dry. Moist does not crumble the same way dry does. 3rd-you have to be extra careful because they are raw. I've had issues with another freeze dried raw product not realising I had limited time to use it up and my one cat got really sick and lost quite a bit of weight. This package says to use within a month of opening. That seems like a long time but I think it will be used up way before then! I also keep it in the fridge even though it doesn't say to. I am still crumbling it as much as possible and putting on top of my cats' food and they BOTH LOVE IT! (Make sure you wash your hands after touching it.) They don't even want their regular treats anymore, they just want this. I have to be careful they don't just eat this off the top of their food and leave the food! I now push it down a bit. I dinged the rating by 1 star simply because it's not exactly what I want, but it is a high quality product from a great company and my cats' love them.

My dog loves it, but it crumbles & it's $82/lb!
My dog loves her chicken Halo. It's her favorite treat. However, the new formula is greasy, harder to divide big pieces and yet somehow arrives in mostly tiny crumbs. I'm doubtful that the new bag packaging is any more recyclable than the old plastic jar that at least better protected the treats. Will probably still buy some, but am looking for alternative treats and working on phasing it out of her treats.

Junky New Dog Treats
First off, let me say that I've given this new version of Halo treats one star only because I couldn't give it zero stars. I've been buying Halo freeze dried chicken treats for years. In September I placed an order for a new "square plastic container" of these treats. Upon arrival I immediately noticed that they were packaged differently. They are now in a pouch. When I opened the pouch I saw that they were totally different than what I had been getting for years. They were hard and greasy. The coloring had even changed from a white to a brown color. Nothing like we were used to. I went ahead and gave my little dog 2 of these ones the first day and 2 on the second day. First off, he wasn't his normal happy self to be getting the new treat but he ate it anyway. For 2 days he had bad diarrhea, which at first I didn't attribute to the new treats. I had not changed anything in his diet except the "treats", so I finally recognized that it must be these weird new treats. I started reading the comments for Halo treats on Amazon and saw that there were many, many comments about this "new Halo" treats that were negative, and that their pets were having the same illnesses that mine was having. Some even said their pets were vomiting among other things along with diarrhea. I finally noticed on the front of the new packaging that these are "raw." These are NOT the same product as what they were previously selling. The original Halo treats was not raw. I stopped giving him the treats and within 2 days he was back to normal. We contacted Amazon for a refund and found a whole new "freeze dried chicken treat" that we love. It is even better that the original Halo product we had been buying for years. The new product is Life Essentials by Cat-Man-Doo. (freeze dried chicken littles) Made for cats and dogs. These are NOT raw, hard or greasy.
