I like that it contains a reservoir for water that keeps all the plants perfectly watered for a week or more. The quality of the light seems better than many of the other grow lights I've tried. The height of the light is fairly easy to adjust. It IUses a screw on bock that you hand ttighten and then rest the light fixture on.

I just bought this as a Christmas gift for someone else, so I can't yet comment on how well it works. Two important updates to note about this unit. First, the O rings that had been originally used to prop up the light fixture have been replaced by clamps. At least the one I received (purchase on Nov. 28, 2016) came with these clamps. Several previously reviewers had complained about the O rings, so hopefully this upgrade will take care of that problem. The clamps seem to work well and should be easier to use. However they are plastic, so I would be careful not to over tighten. Second update to the product is that it now comes (at least mine did) with nanotech reflectors, which individually clip on to each light fixture. From watching videos online, this product originally came with a white reflective sheet that attached to the entire underside of the hood. I don't know whether the nanotech reflectors will work better, but the claim is that they direct 48% more light onto the plants. They (the 24" ones) sell for $15 each on Amazon. Overall, this unit looks very nice and was easily assembled. Just add soil, seeds and water. The only potential problem I see right now is with the inline light switch. It is of the "wheel:" type and is all plastic and feels very flimsy. Might be an unfair criticism,as it hasn't been used much and might very well last a long time. Just my impression from the way it feels. I bought this for a good friend, so if the switch fails, I will replace it with a sturdier one from the local hardware. In a few months I will be able to update this based on how well it works for her, but based on other reviewers comments it should work well.

I bought this to start seedlings from seeds in late winter so they would be ready to grow in spring. I move my little pots of seedlings, nestled in the trays that come with this item, around my house if there is bright sun because the seedlings love the sun the best. But on a cloudy day, and into the night (I use a 18/6 light cycle) this pinch hits for the sun. All the reviewers that say the roof is difficult to adjust up or down are correct. And I worry about the roof falling since the pegs on the side are just tension-screwed and not snapped into a hole. So overall, a 4-star product.Update on 2/20/22: I did wind up having an issue with one of the side pieces and contacted the supplier's customer service by email. They were awesome and fixed my problem!
