This is a very good book and I recomend it to anyone looking for information about Python and OOP.
I am happy with the purchase of this book. It is well written and it's a very enjoyable book to learn from. It's what I turn to for information about Python and Object Oriented Code written with Python.

Love it
Great beginner book, esp. if you've already know some of the basics (for which I recommend Automate the Boring Stuff with Python by the same publisher).Fun read and organized. It's a very good and well-designed and well-written book. The examples are sensibly formatted. If you have any interest in games or require better understanding of object-oriented concepts, this book is a must.Did I mention it makes learning OOP really fun?

Best Book on Object-oriented Programming
This is the Best Book on Object-oriented Programming in general and specifically Python, that I've ever had the pleasure of owning and reading! My stuffy ego-based professor at UCSD expected me to just grasp all the concepts of C++, back when dragons roamed the earth!Seriously, just as Python and Pygame are a breath of fresh air, so is this incredible book.I found myself quickly motivated to make professional level apps, that finally utilize the Object-oriented capabilities of Python.Bravo, and thank you, Irv Kalb!

I finally have a handle on oop
I've been struggling to understand oop and this book cleared it up. I have always viewed oop as making programs overly complex. At the same time, whenever I start a new project, I am writing a lot of code from scratch and debugging can be time consuming. With the help of this book, oop makes sense. I've already written a few classes (the right way) and I'm already seeing dividends with simplified code and better sharing code across projects.

After python crash course, head over here to OOPython
This book guides people to a whole new level of programming. If you want to write code based on design and efficiency place your faith on this book. When it comes to design its timeless. You'll learn a lot especially if you are trying to get your feet wet in making small games like me. I got plans and oh boy this book is taking me there. Cheers and good luck in your coding journey! :D

Excellent Python Book
This is an outstanding book. I really love the Author and how he explains procedural programming and then OOP. Absolutely a gem of a book. If you are a beginner, pair this book along with Python Crash Course which is part of the same series. I majored in IT with an emphasis in IS and graduated at Arizona State University. The Professors at the school use this series of books along with other material. I highly recommend this book but start with Python Crash course if you are a newbie. I have read about 4 Python books and this book blows away they rest by far I feel.

Great Beginner Book for Pygame
A great beginner book to learn Python using Pygame and Pygwidgets. My main purpose of writing this review however is to ask anyone, the author or readers, their suggestion for another book on Python focusing on Tkinter. Anyone?

Very clear explanations
I have done a number of exercises using class, subclasses, etc. . These were examples of how-to without clearly explaining why. Irv Kalb is an excellent teacher, and he leads one from “procedural” programing to OOP with explanations of the “why”. His explanations and clear. His examples illustrate the concepts explained.. I wish I had read this book several years ago….
