Decent compass, however, room for improvement.
First off, this is a decent compass and I am happy with my purchase.Button compasses are not meant to be your main compass. They work to give you a general bearing. This wrist compass by Cammenga has an average build quality. The aluminum casing is more durable than plastic which is a plus and the markings on the compass make it a viable last effort compass for somewhat accurate general direction.I knew that buying this wrist compass would not replace a full size compass. The only gripe I have about this compass is its watch strap attachment points. They are dangerously thin and even though I will not put it under heavy use I know I will at some point break them if I drop this small compass. For the money paid and for the brand I do not believe it is up to Cammenga’s image of “rugged”.Again, this is a simple wrist compass and not meant to be something that will endure abuse.I will have this in my pocket on me at all times, but I can already tell that if I sit wrong or drop the compass those attachment points will snap off and maybe even the lens will come off.Although I do not give this product a 5 out of 5 stars I am pleased with my purchase because of the realistic expectations I had prior. Some, though, will obviously have problems with this compass’ build quality.I haven’t tried it in humid/wet conditions but it seems it does not have an easy way to open it in order to perform some cleaning like it’s counterpart compass, the H3 Cammenga. My advice for future buyers is to be realistic in their expectations especially if they are spending their hard earned money.

Cammenga Phosphorescent Wrist Compass
I purchased four of these wrist compasses and they work perfectly. They give a very accurate indication of direction as well as being convenient to use with just a turn of the wrist. They are light weight with a thick sturdy nylon material for the wrist band and what appears to be a lexan polycarbonate bezel. The outside diameter is 1 1/8" by 5/16" high, the wrist band is 10" long with holes every 1/4" and the buckle appears strong. I ordered two baseplate style and one lensatic compasses at the same time and all three of them had defects? As far as the wrist compasses go they find north quickly and settle down equally as fast with no overshooting with a very stable dial ! I would recommend these to my friends or anyone needing a compass for general directional acquisition in all climates. Much better than a ball compass and the likes.

Rugged, made in USA, and NOT h2o filled
Nothing more reliable out there for a wrist compass. Air sealed, not liquid, so no chance of bubbles wreaking havoc on your heading.USA made, and it shows.

The nylon strap is adjustable with lots of holes to fit comfortably.
Basic but accurate and handy when driving around on my scooter. Will likely use it when hiking in the bush so I don't get lost. The nylon strap is adjustable with lots of holes to fit comfortably.
