BubbaFlo Duo Dual-Wall Insulated Water Bottle, 24 oz., Island Teal

The Bubba Bottle has a transparent outer plastic shell providing insulation for a translucent inner plastic container that actually holds the water. The inner container in my bottle is blue. The one I bought for my wife is light green, so we can tell them apart. In addition to the colors which are attractive and serve a purpose, we can also tell how much water we’ve drunk or have left to drink from the 24 oz capacity.But the real genius of the design is the lid. The mouth of the bottle is wide enough to allow ice cubes to be fed. I find cold water so much more refreshing. So, I load up my bottle with ice. Carole prefers hers at room temperature. But back to the lid.The lid consists of several parts. First, the lid screws onto the top of the water bottle with a washer in the rim to secure a tight fit. Two rings are placed on opposite sides of the lid, one smaller and one larger ring. The larger ring is good for holding the water bottle with a finger or strap. The lid has a circular “mouth” for drinking from the water bottle without having to remove the lid.Fitted on top of the mouth to prevent spillage and protect the bottle contents is a spring-loaded flip lid which in closed position is held tight over the mouth by a catch button. In the closed and locked position, a plastic gasket underneath the flip lid exactly covers the mouth so no water can escape even if the water bottle is rolling around on the passenger seat of a car, for example.Holding the bottle with one hand, a press on the catch button with your thumb can release the spring-loaded flip lid exposing the mouth and allowing drinking. The spring also keeps the flip lid out of the way during drinking. When done drinking, it’s easy to push the flip lid back onto the catch, closing the bottle until the next time. But wait, there one other feature that makes this all work.For water to pour out of the bottle through the mouth of the lid, air has to get in. Otherwise, you could turn the bottle upside down and the water would stay in the bottle. So, there’s a small, barely perceptible hole under the flip lid which when the lid is sprung is exposed, allowing air to get into the bottle as water pours out. Ingenious, right!?

I love this water bottle. My daughter has one, and convinced me to buy one. I have never had a hydration bottle before, but I knew I needed one, as I drive to different places all day for my job, and have a tendency to get a bit dehydrated. I got it three months ago and have used it every day and really increased the amount of water I drink. The reason I like this particular bottle is that I can fill it with ice and it takes a really long time for the ice to melt, so the water is always cold or cool, and this bottle, if you close it all the way, is totally leak-proof. I can stick it in my bag without worrying about it leaking on anything. The only time it has leaked, it was user error, as I did not have it closed all the way, or once the rubber gasket on the lid had twisted. After straightening the gasket, all was fine again. The bottle is easy to clean and easy to open and close with one hand. Fits in my drink holder in my car, but barely. I would definitely buy this again and would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends

Best insulated water bottle ever. When going out I fill about 1/3 with ice cubes then 2/3 with either zero sugar iced tea or with water and I’m set! This fits perfectly in car cup holders, holds a very generous amount, keeps everything cold and insulated, is light weight, good grip, stays sealed when you’re not drinking from it and the screw off lid is dishwasher safe. Highly recommend!

Ah Bubba, we have several around our house. Some were broken by falling against a concrete floor at work. No complaints with that. But one of these flip top Bubba's lids broke during normal use. Washed by hand and air dried. It didn't pop up as usual when the button was depressed. So tried pressing the button and pushing up on the flip top. Well the little piece that sticks out for the lock broke off then. Tried again and it came open. The lid had a little rattling sound. A piece down inside the lid had broke and it had been wedging the lid closed.When this Bubba works right it is great no leaks, helps keep the drink cool, although not as well at keeping it cool as the metal ones. It is tall and a bit tippy, so it really needs a functioning lid.I am happy to report that Bubba sent us a replacement under their warranty as the lid will no longer stay closed.Haven't had any problems with the gasket or mold growth thankfully. Now if the lid was just a bit sturdier, I would give it five stars, but since it isn't, four stars it is. Bubba customer service gets five stars this time.
