Light and Secure for My 1C Type Hair
Based off the negative reviews, I was hesitant to buy this, originally; however, seeing how well it’s held together after an intensive workout (45min treadmill run + 20min jump rope), I’m sold!! Immediately purchased 3 more lol. The attached photo is right after the workout. For reference, I have type 1C hair, so it may just be that it works for this type. If regular hair ties and clips are prone to slipping for you (as they are for me), THIS PRODUCT will be a game changer for you! It also looks way better than a regular tie or clip if your hair is on the straight/flat side. It’s mad secure and sits close enough to the head that you don’t feel the ponytail, either, if that makes any sense lol. When I run with hair ties, the constant whipping and bobbing of my ponytail used to annoy the f*ck outta me, not to mention I’d always slip. Plus, buns would always unravel unless I doused it in hairspray. But this, THIS…ultimate game-changer.

Thick hair friendly
I love love love this hair clip! Seems very durable and holds all of my very thick curly hair. Finally something that holds up my hair without smashing my curls. Perfect for summer.

Great Hair Clip
I've used a lot of the old, plastic banana clips for hair. This clip superceded my expectations for a banana clip. Looks cute, very sturdy, and easy to use. Held my hair in place without moving or sliding down my head (like the plastic ones do). I bought the large. I plan on buying the small one next. Love it!

Sizing changed
I used to love these hair clips but not now.I have purchased several of these, always the large. I have thick curly hair & need it pulled back for work. These had always worked great! The past 2 large that I purchased are smaller in size compared to my other ones. These are now useless to me! I have too much hair for this new smaller, large size. Very disappointed.

Impossible to use
I bought this "clip" with high hopes, after reading the many positive reviews. Unfortunately it does not live up to expectations. This is an understatement.I'm left wondering if these reviews are fake or if they were written by octopi. Because only an octopus would have enough hands to successfully maneuver this thing into its intended position within a head of hair. This cannot be done with two hands alone. Believe me, I've tried. And tried. How is one supposed to gather and hold the hair, then put this thing behind and under it (while it flops around as two separate pieces) and then somehow bring the two pieces together, up and around the hair, then find the (floppy) elastic tether and fasten the two sides together? Honestly this is a feat worthy of reality TV. I would watch a season of this challenge. Especially if octopi were allowed to participate.I ONCE, miraculously, and with feats of calisthenics, got this thing into a reasonably close approximation of its intended position in my hair. I was excited. I thought maybe, just maybe, today was the day. Alas, immediately upon letting go after "tethering" the two halves together, it fell open with a stunning lack of shame. There was no pop, no spring of failure, just a slow motion slide of hair and plastic. It didn't simply fail, it made a mockery of the idea that it could have ever succeeded. The smooth, slick pin that's supposed to hold the elastic tether doesn't even have a lip or groove to hold it. I cannot help but laugh. This isn't made to hold hair. This is made to LOOK like it will hold hair just long enough to take our money to the bank, while we toss yet another manufactured piece of uselessness into the garbage. There's no winning here for anyone. Even if the pin would hold (which is a physical impossibility), octopi don't have hair.Do not waste your money. Do not waste your time.

Finally a banana clip that works!
Everything is not for everybody. So if you have straight or fine hair than the large clip is not for you. This company does sell a medium clip for fine or less curly hair. You may want to try that one. Okay with that said I bought one because I want to jazz up my regular curly afro I have been rocking for about 3 years now. I call it my lazy doo because with kids I don't have to do much to it in the morning. Just pick out and go, if that. Anyway, new year updated me.....I have banana clips that do not hold. I will be chunking them out shortly. I got this clip yesterday and even though I have not had it long I can already tell this will be my go for for a while. I am ordering another for back up as I type this because nothing last forever. It is so comfortable I forgot it was in my hair. The reviews that say the teeth got tangle, I don't understand how. SMH. The package comes with directions and you can look up a video on how to use it. So directions everywhere. As for the price I don't really mind because you get when you pay for. Those cheap plastic clips break or continue to pop open. So if I want to get the style that I want I figured I have to pay a little more for it. Anyway would get different colors but due to my hair I will stick with black because I doubt you can even see the clip with all my curls. Again this clip is for THICK hair. If your hair is thick and unruly at times I think you will love this in my personal opinion. I already doo.... :-)

DISAPPOINTING
When I ordered this, I perused the reviews and got a good laugh out of the one that described the machinations she had to go through to secure this clip into her hair. Well, I'm here to tell you she was NOT exaggerating, I have thick hair and usually have trouble with clips holding it. This one was no better. First off, lining up the teeth to the comb plus pulling the elastic around the little knob thing to close is really a PIA. I tried over and over again. I'm old, I've done this thousands of times with other clips -- for some reason this particular clip is a bear to manipulate and secure. You don't always get what you pay for. I returned.

I LOVE IT
I have very thick hair so regular banana clips would always pop. These hold my hair with no problem thanks to the clipon top. I'm getting more.
