Hiya, the gap from the floor to the bottom shelf is 10cm, Cox poorly get shoes under there, maybe not boots!

Well , it will stand without the poles , but it does does give he table extra strength, so if one chooses not to use them? Then it might not withstand a certain weight???? Personal choice? But they are supplied for a reason.
