Will this be adequate for use with a 2000 watt generator?

My 2200 Watt generator is rated 1800 watts continuous. This cable is fine for your generator if the continuous rating is the same or less. If you run continuous over 1800 watts it will heat up and possibly melt or cause a fire.

I don't see anything on the label that states this is a true "outdoor" cord. Can it be used outside for several weeks straight for holiday lights?

This is cord is meant for temporary use only when working outside.

Can this extension cord be buried in the ground

Yes! I know this is going to make a lot of folks cry, but I’ve had a 14 gauge extension cord buried a couple inches and plugged into my porch GFI outlet for 30 years without any issues. I know that’s crazy and very scary for a lot of people. To make them happy, I’ll include a disclaimer: it’s probably illegal and the government will be very sad, if you do this without paying for the proper permits and inspections.
