I was surprised by the amount of negative reviews claiming that this was a poor lunchbox. Of course it is. This is just a replacement/alternative insert to be used in a Bentgo Kids Chill lunchbox (purchased separately). The lunchbox is leakproof; this insert and flimsy top is not. Because it’s not designed to be used on its own.We already have the Bentgo Kids Chill lunchbox but since my kid goes to school everyday, we needed a second insert to prepare lunch the night before while the other is being washed. This works perfectly for that use case. Feels about the same weight and quality as the original insert. No complaints!

The entire Bentgo system of products is a winner in my house. With a kindergartener back in school we've been using these for 2 years now. These are perfect for packed lunches. I'm able to keep this sorted and organized for my picky little eater. The only reason this product lost a star for me relates to the overall product design when this is being used in a case with an ice pack, the closing is finicky and requires perfect alignment. Outside of that minor issue this is a great product.

I like that it has lots of space, and I used it for my daughter school lunch box.

1. The lids don’t fully snap! You have to squeeze the under lid to the top to get it to latch.2. And there’s always 1-2 that don’t snap at all bc the container/lid don’t line up3. 5 latches altogether which is unnecessary and difficult- no way a child can undo it themselves4. Impossibly to thoroughly clean because the portions are small and deep5. Heavier than anticipated. Not ideal for kids. Yet not ideal for adult bc portion sizing.

I had the older version of these and it was great because I could pack an extra lunch and just put the lid on. The lid on this new version doesn’t fit right. It won’t close the whole way, almost like the lunch insert itself has warped. They don’t sit appropriately in the case either without the frozen part. It works for now, but I won’t be buying again.

This bento is great! It keeps food warm and cold.

Bought this as a replacement to the insert that came with my Bentgo chill because after 1.5 months our insert got warped and the chill literally wouldn't close no matter what you did. We'll guess what, it won't fit with this replacement either! Next we figured hey this comes with a lid, let's just use this until we decide what to do for a replacement for our original Bentgo Chill... well the lid for this won't latch on all sides, so frustrating considering the price you pay for these and the positive reviews and hype that c Bentgo gets for their products. Disappointing to say the least.

This is not meant to be a stand alone lunch box and yess it will leak if you use it that way. It's meant to be used for meal prepping and a cheaper alternative to buying two or more entire Bentgo chill lunch boxes. Prep the lunches ahead of time and then just pop them into the hard shell when it's time to use them.
