Good introduction emerging markets
An excellent introduction to the opaque world of investments in emerging markets. I have diversified my investment portfolio by including emerging markets.

Start here for emerging markets investing
A very good investing book for beginners and even experienced investors in emerging market investing. From my experience, the biggest reason people lose money in emerging market stocks is because they don’t understand the risks and how emerging markets go through distinct periods of boom and bust, even more than other stocks.Step by Step Emerging Markets Investing covers both of these areas nicely. In the chapter on emerging markets risks, the book covers those specific to investing like political risk, economics and currency risk but without making you get through all the economic jargon. The section on periods of boom and bust in emerging market stocks is an eye-opener even for someone that has been investing for a while. It helps put the investing topic in perspective and fits with the proposed strategy

Do not buy. Scam. Please Read.
Please do not buy this book. It is 40 pages written in size 13 Times New Roman font. I read it cover to cover in 15 minutes and was extremely disappointed. Not only is this book not helpful, it's a fraud. The information he provides is common knowledge and readily available on any website with a quick google "emerging markets". Quite frankly, I could probably stop someone on the street, ask them about the Chinese economy, and they'd tell me as much as this guy. IN ADDITION (PLEASE READ THIS) at the end of his book, he asks you to go on amazon and RATE HIM WELL, providing him artificially high ratings from people who might not know much about stocks, and believe the crap this guy is feeding. If you're interested in becoming involved in emerging markets and ETFs, please do so, but this is not the place. The idea of anyone else reading this book hurts me.

Recommended!
This was one my favorite books by Joseph Hogue, maybe because I live in an emerging market and I know firsthand on the risks and opportunities that lie here. It makes you think that the world is larger than the tiny lot you're spending your days on. And no, watching news frantically is not necessary to get a healthy return from your foreign investments. When I hear about emerging markets, the first thing that comes to mind is China or Brazil, but this book touched on emerging and frontier markets from each continent. Recommended!

Great overview and basic guidance
I liked the guidance about which regions to look for growth and why. I also liked the money management idea about how to regularly balance your portfolio. I liked the etf pointers, I would have liked some comments on actively managed funds.
