Pull down the door and it's in the front at the bottom.

I've heard that roasting uses top and bottom burners and baking uses only bottom. Does this oven give you the option to roast OR bake?

There is not a "roast" setting on this oven, and if you can zoom in on one of the photos you will be able to see all the settings. The "bake" setting uses top AND bottom burners and you would use this for baking a cake or roasting a chicken, both of which I have done with great results. There is a broil setting which just uses the top burner.

can the racks and baking pan be washed in the dishwasher?

No. Should be hand-washed in hot sudsy water.
