Electric saw is the best purchase for me.
I had finally had it with my gas powered saw and its brittle fuel lines. Got this and only have to charge the battery and put bar oil into it. Doesn't have a chain brake on it but since it is electric, just release the trigger. If you have a lot of woodlot to take care of, you will need more batteries and I got the 6 amp hour 40 volt batteries which work great. The chain spins fast enough, seems to chew right thru the branches and trunks I need to cut. Easy to sharpen the chain when the right file and guide are used. The bar oil does well as long as the debris is brushed away from the oil fill cap before opening the tank. Easy to clean. No gas can is the best part. Feel safer using this saw than the gas powered one. This was a great purchase for me.

about 6-7 LBS and 60 cuts on 4'' fresh pine trees
Works great for taking out little pine trees! A very sharp blade was surprised Oregon does make good chains but normally i don't see as large of chips! didn't check the raking depth on the chain but something must be different about this little thing as it cuts like butter. At least on thick fresh wood.Due to the slow speeds if you try to cut a HARDWOOD that is dry or branches it is quite bouncy which is expected for the slow speed. even worse you will find it impossible to trim a 1-inch fresh flimsy branch as it will just bounce all over. Has its uses though for fresh soft pine and that's about it.The 2AH battery works for about 60 cuts with breaks in between.got this to get away from the stench of gas and oil but still uses bar oil.. found out its the bar oil that causes the horrible taste in my mouth, seems i could had used food or vegetable though as the chain speed is so slow it can't even use up the bar oil properly it gunks up and will need cleaned or wiped off the bar eventually and around the chain drive.Has its uses no finicking with high and low idle jets when increasing altitude more than 1,500ft from adjusted level.

Nice saw for small stuff. Convenient & quiet
I just got this saw after having decent luck with the 40v pole saw. It works well, the battery life is great...overall I'm impressed. I only give it 4 stars as the chain speed is too slow. This results in a "jumpy" cut when bucking up small dry hardwood limbs, which can be a bit unsafe--combined with the light weight of the saw, its important to pay attention and hold on firmly. I'm sure that would be a non-issue with softer wet woods. I wasn't satisfied with the chain tightening mechanism of the 40v pole saw...this is a little better, but not great. While it's not supposed to be compared to a stihl, my arborist saw with a 12 in bar shares the same chain. They should be similarly secured in place with durable hardware as most gas saws are. They share similar torque, so I'm not a fan of the soft plastic cover and plastic tightening mechanism. I'll see how it holds up for atv trail trimming & update.

CUTS NICE !!!
Here’s what I really like about this chainsaw, first off light weight easy for this old grandma to handle but well designed with a safety guard, very little vibration which is why I don’t like the gas ones, has a chain tighter knob and self oiling on that will say thought it leaked just a tad but realized over filled it first time so don’t do that like I did lol It is a little hard to see the measurements on the oil reservoir since it’s white instead of clear no biggie there though put a permanent marker line on it. Cuts as nice as a gas chainsaw lots of speed thanks to the 40 volt battery guessing close to the 60 cuts today just used on big maple tree branches that broke off last winter in ice/snow storm MN worked great be realistic it’s a 12” chainsaw so won’t use to cut the base of a big maple or oak tree, around here would definitely work on younger trees does saw thru green wood nicely. Overall this is a good buy :)

Don't expect to last long
Bought in 2017, used it for five seasons, cutting branches of trees about two times each season. This year used it for trimming branches on two trees. The motor finally died. So my estimate is the motor has a finite life of about five years, which is decent, but not as good as my electric saw that I bought in 1976, which is still in good working shape. The convenience of battery operated saw does weigh a lot, and is very helpful. I am Ok with its life of five seasons. I wonder if their newer design will give a longer life; plan to order one, even though I have my chorded saw as a backup

Awesome chainsaw that I am very happy I bought!
I grew up here in Kentucky cutting a lot of wood with my Father and we used to even sell it. However, that was with a large bulky Stihl chainsaw, but it was required for that kind of work. For the work I am doing cleaning up things around my yard and cutting smaller trees; this chainsaw really delivers and it doesn't wear you down like the older heavier gas powered chainsaws. The only drawback which I don't even see as a negative is making sure to keep your eye on the chain oil compartment as not to run out of oil. I cleaned out the remaining hedge in my yard that had grown to almost small tree size and it did an awesome job.As well I have cleaned up quite a few small trees on my home property with this model and so far no major problems. For someone who had experience with the larger chainsaws doing the work we did growing up; I can tell you that this one is amazing for its size.As well it is very quite and even some of my neighbors didn't realize I was using a chainsaw until they came out their houses. So you have to be pretty close to hear the running of the saw compared to hearing the older gasoline types even if you were in your house next door.I am very happy with mine and if you want a lot of running time I would suggest buying a second battery as having only one will run down doing a lot of work before you even know it. You won't be sore either from using this one!
