This class was easy to install and works perfectly for what we are using it for.

Good to keep kids away from the outside. Not that sturdy though, the pin is welded and thin, so if someone try to break into your house, it won’t protect.

Not just for gates
I've installed these latches on my double doors in my loft. The doors are hinged on the outside so when opened they provide a huge opening. I've tried several different latches to provide good security by securing the doors to one another. These look great and perform even better. They do a great job of securing the doors to one another making it more difficult to break into the doors.
