UPDATE !!! Using Amazon's Super Simple return process, I returned and re-ordered this product. I got the new one in yesterday and it is Indeed, new. There was no smutz, and no scratches ,on the screen and the box was intact. I plugged it in and ran it for an hour and it worked just fine. I changed my review from one star to 5 stars.I'm not saying the product is bad, because I don't know. I got my package, opened the delivery box and immediately realized the product box had been taped shut on both ends and showed signs of wear. When I opened the box I noticed the CozyCoop had been shoved in and the cord and plastic stands were crammed in with no thought to protecting the screen. I removed the unit from it's box and sure enough the screen was dirty in several places and scratched. I hope it's a returned product because if not, and this is the way CozyCoop packages their product, someone in quality control needs to up their game. I'm returning it and ordering a replacement. Hopefully I will get a new unit next time. If not, I'll be back...

Great heater for chickens. Used this in the coop during the winter to keep chickens warm at night. Worked all winter long with no issues. Installed easily with just a couple screws. Bigger than my last one that I replaced. Whips clean with soap and water when needed. Shipping was slow but overall I would purchase this again, great value for the money.

Hangs up like a mini flat screen. It gets pretty hot to a bare hand on the working side but not on the wall side. Hens just stand in front of it and can even bump against it without any problems. It won’t heat up a coop house much. Mine is 8’ by 10’ and insulated. Had temps into single digits overnight without frost bite issues. Birds were kept indoors for several days. Used seed starting heat mat to keep water unfrozen btw. This panel will make a good heat source for day old chicks mounted on a ceiling in a brooder. Add some way to adjust the height and use a cordless remote thermometer device to monitor.

Every chicken owner should have one of these heaters!! I love it for my darlings!! It keeps them warm and happy on cold winter days. It has two heat settings; low and high. I have only had to use warm as my coop is not huge. I feel it contribute to the water not freezing (it use to freeze before I had this). It is very easy to hang. Also, it's just fun to tell people your chickens have a flat screen, wall mounted heater it their coop!

I installed this in my chicken house on a wall on exposed studs. I hung it using 2 supplied screws and also used 2 screws/nails on the wall towards the bottom just to keep the plate off of the wood walls. I figured it was a good idea to keep the hot plate from touching anything flammable. So far it is great!

The heater box was taped up after-market so I’m assuming I received someone else’s return? Either way, I opened the box, plugged it in, turned to high and within 5 minutes it was hot enough to burn my hands. Unplugged it, let it cool down all the way and tried it on the low setting and got same result. Thank goodness I tested it before putting in with my girls!! This thing would severely burn anything that it came in contact with if it didn’t first start a fire. Amazon wanted me to send it back and I said I would, but will etch “damaged” on the screen to prevent a tragedy when it was shipped out again. I buy a lot on Amazon and am generally very happy with the service when something isn’t right, which is thankfully not often. So I was a little put off when the rep told me they’d make a one-time exception and allow me to keep [what I would call THEIR liability] as a gift while they returned my money. I decided to open up my “gift” before adding it to the landfill and there it was … it looked like a child assembled it with leftover materials they found in the garbage of an electrician. Literally … clear scotch tape & glue holding wires down, insulation pieced together from scraps, all covered with tin foil and evidence of any/all plastic melting throughout. Shocking, really. I’d stay far away from this particular heater … I’ve got other brands that have worked great for years with no issues — this isn’t that!!

I wanted a heater for my chickens, reviews were decent but used it tonight for the first time and pretty disappointed. I have 7 chickens that stay in a relatively smal coop I bought from tractor supply. I put a temp gauge in there to make sure I didn't cook them. After several hours with every vent and door closed on the coop, it's 26 degrees outside and only 35 degrees inside their coop. Not terrible but not going to help at all on those single digit or negative nights which is why I got it. Strictly for raising chick's to stand buy, definitely not for warming adult chickens even a its only big enough for basically one chicken to stand i front of. So, for raising baby chick's only.
