Q: What are the dimensions? Will it fit a large roll?

I can fit a stack of 3 Angel Soft double rolls. Mine measures 5.5 inch diameter, 13.5 inches tall.

Q: Are the plastic containers brown, black, or grayish? Transparent or opaque? Thanks.

The container is dark brown with a bronze tint.

Q: are you able to remove rolls without picking up tipping the container sideways? If so, how?

Yes, no problem . Put a finger in the center of a roll and just pull up. The only possible problem with normal removal is if you use very large double rolls of TP ---which I have-- so then you just pull up harder from the canter of the roll . What I like about this tissue holder is that you can really hide its usage in a bathroom .

Q: is the lid a tight fit?

i WOULDN'T SAY "TIGHT", NO. It sits on top of the container and when taking hold of the knob on the lid, the lid comes off.
