Beware that it alters the m50x's sound signature, but expect that with most 3rd party ear pads.
Headset: ATH m50xbt2-Noise Cancellation: Personally, I don't like noise cancellation as I like being able to hear myself speak, but that's what mic monitoring on closed-back headphones are for. But if I were to give a comparison, there's not really a significant difference in the noise isolation between the stock earpads and these ones.-Comfort: As someone with bigger than average ears, these were life-savers for me. The original earpads on the ATH m50x's are too small and too shallow for me, so the biggest issue I had with the headset overall was constant headaches due to the tips of my ears either hitting the speakers or having to wear them like on-ear headphones... I hate on-ears so this was essentially me choosing between two evils. Thankfully, these earpads are roomier and fit my ears into the headphones without making my ears hit the speakers, and I'm sure that even if they did it wouldn't cause too much issue as the foam on the speaker is denser. This slightly alters the soundstage, but I'll talk about that in the next bit.-Audio Quality: OKAY, here's where we get into the nitty-gritty...I've owned many other headphones in the past, typically ranging from $50 the $300 mark and I'd like to say that I'm somewhat of an audiophile... at least enough to hear minor differences. Before the ATH m50xbt2s, I owned the Sennheiser HD560s, which by comparison are much more lightweight and comfortable, hence I never had to buy a new pair of earpads for them... Where does that fit into this review? Well, essentially, I bought the ATH m50xbt2s for the fact that they're Bluetooth and are quite popular in the audiophile community and the small subsection that is those who simply need to go without a cable. The two headphones have a significant difference in soundstage. The HD560s are widely renown for an amazing true-to-sound neutral quality. The m50xs, on the other hand, have a more "fun" sound signature, meaning they are attuned more for treble and bass to emphasize certain sounds, which is perhaps totally opposite from the HD560s. Not in a bad way, just different. This type of soundstage is typically known for being good for gaming as footsteps and gunshots will be more emphasized. This difference is relevant for me to point out is because of the significant fact that, when you change out the earpads for anything significantly different for the stock ones, it changes the way the audio works; most manufacturers of headphones put the stock earpads they have in their headphones specifically to make them sound the way they want you to listen to them, even if it's at the cost of making them less comfortable. I just wanted to get that out of the way for those of you that don't seem to understand that. With that out of the way... I noticed that in these reviews, there are a lot of people who complain about the change in the soundstage with their headphones when they buy these earpads... I'm here to say that, frankly, no shit. Of course it's going to change it if you use anything other than stock. From my experience with these earpads.... Yes, it will indeed change the m50xs soundstage, but not in a bad way.... Unless you're so comfortable with the way your headphones currently sound to the point where any slight change will make you totally hate the headset, in which case, just simply don't consider buying new earpads. These earpads will tone down the m50x's naturally sharper treble. This is because the m50x is originally created as studio monitors, and created mostly to pay attention more to vocals, hence the higher treble level... Personally, as someone who's more used to a neutral sound signature, this is an absolute plus for me, as trying to get used to the sharper treble was actually giving me headaches upon the first week using it. Among the change, they still retain that higher treble level, but it's not as overbearing anymore. For someone who's more used to this sound signature, they most likely will sound quiet and muddied. But this is something I think that one could get used to over time. The mids stay almost identical and the bass is less punchy; something I know that would deter people most. But these two changes won't take as long to get used to as they're not as significant. The big TL;DR - If you care about the m50x's original sound signature and don't want it altered, either opt for ear pads that are more similar to the stock ones, or just don't get ear pads at all.

Excellent replacement cups
These cups are more comfortable and less sweaty than the stock ones. As an audio professional I love the ATH-M50s for their pretty neutral frequency representation at such a low price, but the stock cups will fall apart after about a year of consistent use. These replacements are more comfortable and significantly less hot than the stock ones, so they’re a great option when your stock cups are falling apart. My only gripe is that the change does seem to alter the frequency representation a bit (to my ears it gives it a more smile-shaped, Bose-like sound), but I’m okay with that and can compensate for it. If your stock cups are falling apart, I definitely recommend giving these a try.

Better than oem
Original surface started flaking off. These are of a satin type material that will solve that problem and are also cooler. Installation of first was a learning experience, the second one went much quicker. They fit tight but they will stay put.

Cool Comfort
These are great replacement cups and are very comfortable and easy to install. I never noticed how much pressure the old cups were putting on my ears until I got these replacements. It is now sooo much easier to ear my headphones for extended periods.

wasn't what i was expecting
When i bought this for as cheap as i did (in comparison to the manufacture default earcups for the SteelSeries Xbox Arctis 7X) i thought this wouldn't be worth the money. So far im wrong and that's good, because this had some other benefits then just compatibility with my headset.its more comfortable then the aforementioned default, it doesn't soak up sweat/grease, and it doesn't push against my ears like my others did. In fact sometimes i forget that my headset is on at all after long sessions. But the real test of these earcups quality will be long term, 1-2 years from now if this still holds up by then. Maybe I'll update my review after, if i remember that i even wrote this.

Great replacement with some issues..
They fit perfect, the install (even watching a video) is a pain unless you do it several times a day. I didn't fit it into the groove I just stretched and it stayed. It is cooling pads at first, but warm up after wearing them, they look durable but it is pleather and can be replaced if they wear away like the stock ones did.

Bigger, thicker and cooler!!!
I love these replacement earpads because like the title says, bigger, thicker and cooler. Well, the cooler is a bit of a stretch, after about 15 minutes, they heat up to your body temp. But the bigger and thicker definitely apply. I have a big ol' noggin and my ATH-m50s stock earpads just didn't fit my ears well. They were half in and half out of the cups plus the part that was in would bottom out on the drivers. This made for fairly uncomfortable listening sessions. These new earpads solve all of that, plenty of room and no more ears sitting against the drivers. As far as changing the stock sound experience, well duh! For every different headphone and IEM I own, I have different equalizer curves saved. They all need help in different areas of the audio spectrum. My set of balanced Sennheiser cans cannot use the same settings as a pair of Skullcandy earbuds and vice versa. Deal with it and use an equalizer.I love these earpads. Get a set of these and a zip-on head band cover for your ATH-m50s and they are like new again!

M50x were extremely uncomfortable until I put these on!
I don't know what to say, I couldn't wear the M50xs until I put these on. As simple as that.Thick, good breathability, they have leather on the outside and cloth on the inside which is the best mix for me.I have big ears and these are the only ones that could fit my ears.

Way more comfortable than steelseries ear pads!!!
This fantastic product sits perfectly on the arctis pro wireless with cold touch because of the gel! Amazing feeling 100% recommend it.

5 stars all round. Premium materials, way cooler, comfy
Wow, i absolutely love these, i replaced steelseries 7x after anout a year of sweating into them lol, these are waaaaaay better, the gel is a bit meh, but nice if they heen kept in cool environment, BUT they are way cooler than the other ones overtime, they only ever get slightly warm when used ling periods and fit way more snug round youre ear. Bit fiddly to get on but thats to be expected. Well happy with them. After a couple nights, im so happy with these, not only have they made my headset feel and look brand new but there a huge upgrade, i mean think about it, stockheadsets arnt going to use premium earcups as they're trying to keep cost down, these are manufactured with only making best possible earcups being the only goal. There very silky material that i love, the fact i actually want to put my headset on says it all, my old ones started to hurt after long periods where as these dont, AND they fit better. Just 5 stars all round.

More comfortable than originals
I bought these for my Audio-Technica ATK-M50X. They fit well, feel nice & do alter the sound signature very very slightly as expected but music still sounds great. Overall, I'd say if your current ear-pads are still ok & you're just a casual listener then stick with what you've got as these probably won't improve things (eg. comfort, sound) enough to make the cost of these replacements worth while. But if you need replacements anyway or your existing pads become uncomfortable after using them for a while then maybe give these a try, just be aware your music may not sound exactly as before. Casual listeners like me probably won't notice much of a change at all other than a slight loss of bass richness so keep this trade-off in mind when considering to buy.

Great for refurbishing older headphones!
I got these for my older gen ATH-M50's after I decided to get back into music production. Easy to fit, don't seem to be impacting the sound quality from the original pads, and they're quite comfortable to wear. Added bonus for actually looking quite nice. The leather material does feel a bit cheap though, so I am curious to see how these will hold up over time. Giving these 4 stars solely because of the price, which I personally consider to be rather high for what they are.
