Dog Vitamins Supplements Raw and Homemade Dog Food Multivitamins Minerals Powder 1lb Veggie Flavor

Our 85 pound male English Black Labrador loves these vitamins. This product is EXACTLY what I have been looking for. The vitamins do have a smell to them but it is a pleasant one and he loves it. We do not use the recipes from Azestfor. We instead use our own recipes made with a crockpot and vary the recipes with each batch of food. Since we don’t use the Azestfor recipes, it would be easier for consumers like us to have the printed table with how many teaspoons of vitamin for each cup of food. It would give us a clearer picture of the amount of vitamin versus the amount of food. We ultimately decided 1 teaspoon of vitamin per 1 cup of crockpot food. Typically, our 1 year old Labrador eats 2 1/2 cups of food in the morning and 2 1/2 cups of food at night and therefore we would give him 5 teaspoons of vitamins per day (2 1/2 teaspoons AM and 2 1/2 teaspoons PM).

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM! This arrived at my door with a mailing label slapped on the pouch. It wasn't even in a box or mailing bag of any kind. The most alarming thing is that it isn't a powder as advertised. It is more like mushy, soft liquid. There is no way I am giving this product to my dogs. And to add insult to injury, I was told the item isn't available for a refund! If it was only a few bucks I would let it go, but I was charged nearly sixty dollars! I am so very disappointed. Buyer beware indeed.

The food I make my dog is a meat, beef, chicken, turkey, rice & steamed vegetables. My dog is 27 lbs, so what I prepare is about 10 -12 days of food, freezing one container. I nuke the food maybe 12 seconds to take away the chill, then I add 1 tsp of Zest, and I mix it in or around the food with my hand. I am on my 3rd bag/order. Initially, the first 3 or 4 times, she sniffed the food, and seemed to not be thrilled... but once I mixed it in better, she does not notice and does lick the bowl. I'm glad to have it, because to try to provide dogs their supplements and vitamins, is pretty difficult. They don't chew their food, so how do you know they are absorbing vitamins etc... from food .... My dogs won't take supplements.

This is a perfect supplement for peeps who feed their dogs "real food" but want to ensure they recieve all needed nutrients. I feed my Jack Russell sous vide chick. breast (finely diced) and brown rice with a Tbsp of this supplement daily. When moment of truth came (1st serving with the azestfor) it was like turning someone on to ketchup for their french fries for the first time . . . she effing LOVED the addition! I'm definitely committed to this product for the long haul. . . $30 a month may seem pricey for a supplement, but I'm thinking that it may prevent poor quality of life down the road for this 4-year-old, not to mention preventive maintenance for potential vet procedures later on. Also, their website has some great articles and recipes. . . it's obvious that these people are in to dog well-being, and did the research to turn out a good product.

My 8-year old Wheaten had multiple organ failure due to worsening of her IBD. I am so grateful for this product because their fish recipe was literally the only thing I could get my pup to eat and keep down; it’s been a critical part of giving her gut a break while giving her a complete vitamin profile. I’ve begun adding a drizzle of raw goat’s milk or water to reduce the tendency to get clumps because the fish recipe has little moisture to dissolve/adhere the powder. The ingredients are high quality - and I found this actually costs me far less on a per-meal basis with ingredient costs than the prescription food she’d need otherwise. My other two dogs are extremely jealous of these meals!

My dogs will not eat anything with this mixed in. I had to throw away a lot of food my dogs refused to eat while trying this product. Also, $30 seems to be a lot considering the ingredients. The first ingredient listed is “natural veggie flavor”. The word “natural” always was and probably still is completely meaningless in the food labeling context. And what is “veggie flavor”? Seems to be another meaningless term. So the first ingredient — which is the primary ingredient — is a complete unknown and at best provides no nutritional benefit but just flavor (that my dogs hated). The 2nd ingredient listed is chia seeds, which can be purchased for much less than the cost of this supplement. The 3rd ingredient listed is a calcium related supplement, which again can be purchased very inexpensively. My understanding is that after the first 2 or 3 ingredients on a label (at least in dog “food”), the remaining ingredients are so minimal as to be insignificant/inconsequential. I am not certain if it is the same regarding a “supplement” as opposed to “food”.Even if my dogs did like the taste, I probably would not have purchased this product again because the labeling lacks (i) dosage guidelines per pound of your dog or (ii) any percentage indicator regarding minimum daily requirement of vitamins/minerals per serving. Instead, you are required to prepare their recipes, which vary the amount of supplement to include. Much too much work and you still do not know what percentage of the minimum daily requirements are being provided even if you use the suggested recipes.

I bought this because I have to make food for my dogs. They are very picky and so am I. Unfortunately, any time I add this stuff, they don't eat the food. And I REALLY spend a lot on the food I make for them. I think they can smell this stuff and it's just not an appetizing smell for them. I think it's a great idea on principle, but my dogs just don't like it. I can, however, add smaller amounts than suggested with only a BIT of nose snubbing by my dogs!

Edit: removed a star for the $15 price increase. I have no choice but to buy this stuff as its the only thing that hasn’t triggered allergic reactions for my dog, but $45 is so much for how quick you go through this stuff.My dog had extreme allergic reactions to a lot of dog foods due to poor regulations, no matter the brand. We have had her on the beef, chickpea, and carrot recipe for 6 months and she’s doing great. So thankful this has made homemade dog food affordable and easy to make.
