Can you tell me where this stone comes from?

The Pearl or Fire stones are found on a remote Southeast Asian Atoll only accessible by boat. The exact location is private information. They are surface collected in the same way Saffordite is collected.

Is it normal for this stone to come covered in some sort of oil? Is this something to be concerned about? Some oily residue is visible through the cas
