Great protection, simple to deploy, passes PoE supply without problems
I set up two wet virtual dsl lines to two far separate remote buildings over an existing private telephone cable pair to each. As each dsl line left the main building, I wanted to put protection on each end before it transitioned to any equipment. I am using all 4 pairs in this unit at the home end, two for voice and two for data. I am seeing no loss of signal and no more bad packets than when I had a straight through coupling in place of the arrestor. I also tested this with a PoE camera that I wanted to deploy at a remote site and it performed equally well. This arrestor works with or without PoE, but the DIN rail needs a direct path to ground. It is a nice piece of protection to put on each end of your cable runs that exit your primary structure. The spec sheet that comes with it provides all the technical data (and more) than you will need for it. Although both pathway directions are protected, to get best protection based on the tech sheet, the remote cable should attach at the bottom if the logo name is upgright.

Works well, no issue with POE functionality or extra power draw, should have ground screw added
Nice metal case, riveted together, nice din rail clip-on system even shows specs and wiring data. Tried this on a POE device and compared the power draw from the POE switch and saw no extra power draw. I assume these grounds are through the DIN rail, but I think this should have the option of a ground screw too even if as a backup, I would worry in surge this could weld onto the DIN rail otherwise.

I think its working
I have a POE camera that I wanted to give a little extra lightning protection to. This surge protector, from "Procept", seems to fit the bill. I installed it near my router. I don't have a DIN rail, so its just free floating, which seems fine. Installation is plug and play. The camera works as normal. And I think (hope) that if lightning ever strikes that camera, this will provide some extra protection. Can't hurt!

No complaints; Doesn't interfere with normal operation
Having lost one ethernet router to a close lightning strike not quite a year ago, I've been looking for ways to protect my equipment better. This Procet surge protector is part of the defenses I'm setting up.Of course, it's hard to know without destructive testing and/or expensive equipment just how well this device can protect my network, so all I can truly report on is what it DOESN'T do. It doesn't seem to affect my internet speeds, and it doesn't cause any other problems that I've been able to detect. As long as it does what it should when the time comes, I'll continue to be happy with this device.

Very nice feeling
Very nice feeling. Heavy, and external casing made from what looks like aluminum. Based on how the product feels, it seems like high quality. Of course, the only way I'll ever know if it works is if there's a lightning strike (or EMP?) and my equipment is okay. One thing to note: This item must be installed on a DIN rail that is grounded in order for it to work.I don't give 5-star reviews willy nilly.

POE Protection for your Ethernet line
This is designed to be rack-mounted so a series of them can protect al your Power-Over-Ethernet network lines. Hooking up is as simple as can be - plug your POE ethernet into either end and a jumper cable to your device or patch panel. Note that this will not work for a unpowered ethernet connection, it must be POE. I don't really have the ability to test to see if it will indeed protect equipment from a power surge, but the specs appear to be in order and the piece is solidly built.

Good protection from building wiring run to server room.
BOTTOM LINE:1. I recommend this Procept 10KV Ethernet Surge Protector.2. The current price of ~$48 is a bit high.LIKES:- I have another building on the property that houses equipment. Due to the external wiring requirements, my server room is vulnerable to lightning strikes. This device adds protection.- Uses standard DIN rail for grounding.- Good quality.DISLIKES:- None.

Strong Chassis
This fits on a standard DIN rail, but does not come with the little piece like some DIN devices. The chassis is very sturdy and this makes a nice fit in an electrical box among other electrical components. I recommend it.
