Sony TCM-939/B Compact Cassette Voice Recorder

I've lots of cassette recordings and still record on cassettes (love cassettes), I own a few cassette recorders/players the Sony's are the best, since its getting harder to find quality cassette recorders, not a multifunction device (and believe me don't waste your money, you get what you pay for) I bought 2 of Sony's tcm939 and have been happy ever since, it plays and records cassettes, I can listing with my headphones or with the built in excellent sound speaker with adjustable volume control, record with the built in very sensitive microphone or use my own microphone with the optional microphone jack, its also loaded with many extra features, It has a tape counter with a reset button, I can also rewind or fast-forward to selections with the cue and review function, has full-auto stop; which means that it will stop in Rewind, Fast Forward, and playing or recording, the included AC power adapter is great or with 4 "AA" batteries (not included).In summation, I've used probably a dozen recorders over many years, and this is one is the best.

The media could not be loaded. What I didn't like is thepower chord. It so big it doesn't fit in wall socket. Why couldn't there be a normal size power chord?

Served my purpose of recording my cell phone vm messages just fine.I used an additional plug in microphone for added clarity.

You don't find so much mal-information, you know, bull-s... in a single place often. Beware of reviewers with an agenda such as this one. Tells you all the features as if trying to sell you the item... Here's a review instead: You are paying through the nose for an item worth 1/3 the price exactly. Like to get ripped off? Sure, so be it. It takes two to dance the tango. Correctly priced would sell at $70.- Bought 10 or so over time, simply as there is nothing comparable "at that quality" for listening drills. But quality really is not crash hot, either. Volume adjustment dial will deteriorate over a couple of years and make sound less and less adjustable. Screeching or no sound at all will be the final stage of death. Sony has never addressed this problem properly. My advice: if you can at all, stay clear of these kind of recorders (others are far worse!); if not get it through Amazon Japan ([...]), "in English" option, typing its ref no: TCM-939. Get 2 from the start and you'll be OK for perhaps 4-5 years. Thanks for reading. Hope it helps.
