You can tie the straps,in the top loop of this ground anchor.

Q: how does one use the drill, i.e., how does the drill connect to the stake?

You can rotate the end of the tent stakes metal, which can be inserted the electric drill goes directly underground.

Q: What size is the thread on top of the screw in part ?

It's 4/8 in. If you have any issue feel free to ask us.

Q: What kind rope is the 25 foot rope that comes with it?

Its closer to climbing rope. I think its between 3/16 and 3/8 in size. I didnt use it for my application but sure it would work well.
