Really works well, cleans more than just the coils.
No idea what kind of chemicals are in this spray but it works wonders cleaning air conditioning. Gave my RV's rooftop unit some TLC over the weekend, and this spray not only cleaned pollen and bugs out of the coils it cleaned algae and other organic growth off the plastic shroud as well. Almost no scrubbing required, spray on, rinse off, done! Also used it on the outdoor side of a window AC unit. It cleaned some rust off the chassis as well as mildew, and the coils are sparkling clean. Not sure how I would feel about using it on the indoor coils, it has a rather strong unpleasant odor to it.

Works Well, Smells Awful, Foam is limited
I would use the term "foaming" lightly here. I was able to get a little foam out of it when spraying it, but not much, at least not like I was expecting. Looking at the nozzle, it appears as though there should be a hose or something that goes into it to aid in the foam process. To get better foaming action, try only slightly depressing the nozzle and holding the can at an angle. It helped somewhat. As far as how the stuff works, it seems to do really well, despite the lack of foam. The coil in our apartment HVAC unit is coated with years of dust, dirt, and grime. I tried cleaning as much off with another cleaner from work that was mean for outdoor coils, but it didn't do much of anything. This started breaking down the dirt almost immediately and it washed it away somewhat. I did need to rinse the coil as the stuff that was still coming off at the end of the can didn't go anywhere. There is a huge improvement in how the coil and fins look after the cleaner, though it was so dirty I will probably get another can in the spring to get the rest off.Be aware of the smell, it is quite intense, and you'll definitely want to open the windows and let a lot of fresh air in. It reminds me of concentrated Windex almost, but it is there and it isn't enjoyable and it lingers for a long time. I'd make sure that the family and pets are outside for the day when you use it, keep the house/apartment open, and turn the fan on manual when done to help circulate air. If you're cleaning an outside unit, that shouldn't be an issue.I would have given this 5 stars if it weren't for the minimal foaming action and smell.

Unexpectedly Best success of any that I've previously used!
it seems that the chemicals used with the surprising power of the foaming action, pushed a lot of the worn and broken fins out of their congestion. Which only required rinsing by a modest garden hose.Others that I've used, I have had to also use various strengths of wire and plastic brushes to get the congested eroding fins cleaned out. With the CRC the garden hose rinse was all that was needed for clean up.

No foam but dont care.
Mine was a solid stream, and I did like that better than the foams. It seemed to clean better than all the others I have tried. The next day, I fired up the RV air, and the inside now stinks, so that is a solvent issue, and until changed, I won't repurchase it.

Does not work, odor is horrible
Worst product of this type I have ever used. The spray comes out in an a very strong, thin stream that could easily force debris back into the fins. I tried this on my portable room air conditioner and it was a total failure. Did not foam up at all, no matter how much I shook the can. It left behind a greasy residue that will attract dirt, etc. And the odor is horrendous. I could hardly breathe while using that stuff, and it permeated throughout my house. It is very strong and I have no doubt it is unsafe to breathe. Five hours later it still has not dissipated. And yes I am using fans to try to blow it outside. I bought three cans of this stuff and had the same results with the second can. In my opinion this is a complete waste of money and I would recommend it to no one. Requested a refund from Amazon, which was granted.

I've used many CRC products.
I was a Hospital Maintenace Engineer for 40 years. We used many different CRC products. This was used mainly for AC coils. But I bought this to clean the radiator and AC evaporator coils in my truck. I was careful not to spray or have any over-spray on any paint and covered the plastic on the bumper as well. I'm not sure what this would do and didn't want to find out.
