Girly kit for kids
Very cute kit for kids . My niece loves to create new fits for her dolls and this makes it even easier. Nice gift for a kid that would love to extend their creativity.

Fun and Creative Sewing Machine for Kids, but with Some Threading Challenges
My daughter, who absolutely loves Barbie dolls, was thrilled to receive the Barbie Sewing Machine Doll! She’s been overjoyed to create and bring her clothing design ideas to life for her Barbies. The machine’s creative play aspect is fantastic, with adjustable speeds and a foot pedal that make it feel like a real sewing experience for kids. However, there is one downside. The thread tends to come out of the needle quite easily, which makes it difficult for my daughter to use on her own. She often needs my help to re-thread the needle, and even for me, it’s not the easiest task. This can be a bit frustrating, especially when she’s excited about a project.Despite this, she absolutely adores it, and it’s a wonderful way for her to express her creativity. If the threading issue could be improved, it would be perfect!

Sewing machine
I bought this sewing machine for my granddaughters birthday early because I had the money at the time. She was using it the first day and it was sewing great but then the thread starting to snap. I rethreaded the machine and started sewing again. No sooner than she started sewing again, the thread kept breaking. I tried several different threads and the machine kept breaking the thread. As I had bought the machine early, it wasn't eligible for a refund and the company is hard to get ahold of. I'm just going to give it to the salvation army and hopefully someone can fix it and use it.

It sews but only for a short period of time
The unit is very cute and adorable but after using is to teach my granddaughter, the thread tension was uneven and it kept bunching up the thread underneath the spool compartment. We constantly had to stop and realign. After a while, we stopped trying.

Inspires Creativity
I have a niece who loves Barbie, so I thought this would make a great gift. She can design and sew her own clothes for Barbie. You get a Barbie in a leopard print dress (I do not find it attractive). You get fabric, pattern, stickers (to decorate the sewing machine), and the machine. It is a basic sewing machine, but it is well-made. It will get the job done (basic straight stitch). I think it is great that there is a safety guard to protect small fingers from the needle. There is a built in LED light too. I did not like that the machine is battery powered (prefer electricity). A child will need adult assistance to get started. The needle needs to be threaded and there are no pins (to hold fabric together). I believe once a child gets a couple of lessons, they will be able to create on their own (with an adult nearby). This is a great way to inspire creativity. My niece is going to love this set. I wish this had been around when I was a kid (I had to hand sew my Barbie clothes). Keep an eye on your fabric stash because this is addictive.

Working sewing machine
My granddaughters love to play imaginative games with Barbie dolls, and they enjoy dressing them up. When we got a curvy Barbie, though, we discovered that she couldn't share clothes with the other girls and that we couldn't buy clothes for her, either. Then I remembered that when I was a child, we had homemade clothes for our Barbie dolls, made by our mothers and older sisters, and then we learned to sew our own doll clothes -- and eventually our own clothes. This little sewing machine works like a real one, but you don't have to worry about the safety of your machine or of your children, since this machine has a guard around the needle. The set includes patterns for a dress, top, and skirt for Barbie (not for the curvy one, but I found a book of patterns for her here at Amazon) and eight pieces of fabric that won't fray so it doesn't require hemming. There's a book with instructions, but it makes sense to help your children get started.Lots of creative fun for kids!
