Q: Would I need a sway bar for my 10,000. lb trailer with this hitch?

Yes unless you are taking it just short distance. Smaller your truck, more it becomes necessary. So a 1/2 ton truck would need equalizer hitch and sway bar.

They are not locking pins, but if you utilize a hitch lock, the ball is secure. Someone could steal the pins only, as the ball section can’t be removed if locked to hitch. Hope that makes sense.
