i been wanting one of these for YEARS, I finally said life is too short and just bought one.. its better than I could have dreamed. I have a midi foot controller, but honestly I dont think I need it with the auto record sensing function for recording guitar. looping is quantized or something, because its just wayyy ez'er than looping through my line 6 amps' built in loop function +midi controller.. As a guitarist I was torn between this and the 600, I am very pleased with the rc-505 and have zero regrets.

Awesome looper as featured on many busking videos on YouTube. Kind of a steep learning curve if you have never used one. Also is better for guitarists if you incorporate a midi foot pedal. If you go with the fcb1010, best chip is from Belgium, uno fcb-505. My recommendation is the pacer pedal. That has a steep learning curve as well if you are new to midi, but is solid if and when you get the settings down. Overall this unit performs great and as of now, far exceeds my skill level. If you use amplitube, the looper works the same as in the amp sim. Would buy again. So expensive tho. I saw this unit on Amazon go for $900 at one time. Lowest I have seen is $480. Keep you eyes peeled for sale prices. Again, great looper!

Sound quality is good(obviously depends on the kind of headphones). I recommend watching a video on how to use it if you aren’t sure yourself. Overall pretty easy to use and so much fun. I use my loop station everyday and it never fails to satisfy me. Shipped fairly quick with the power cable included. You’ll have to buy headphones(with a jack) and a mic+cord. You can also plug other instruments into the loop station, you will just need the appropriate cord for it. Overall very satisfied with my purchase.

Worst gear you can purchase. Completely unreliable. Temporarily functions and does not perform basic commands. Arrives unusable. Updates don’t work. Extra glitchy. Do not buy it. The first generation seams to work perfectly fine for users. But this one gets a negative five stars. After two weeks of factory resets and helpless updates hoping I can get it to work properly, left me without any doubt that it is NOT user error. I am forced to return it. I am praying it’s not too late to return this useless garbage. Don’t buy it. Worst $700 investment you can make. I've been lusting after one of these for a few years. I'm glad I waited, just for the fact of the MK2 coming out. It has a few features that I believe take it to the next level, such as the bounce feature.Mine came loaded with firmware version 1.04, but it's very easy to upgrade the firmware before you even start making your first loops.I read all of the reviews when this first came out, but the newest firmware seems to have solved a lot of the bugs. So far, nothing has popped up that even seems like a bug.I'm new to a pedal like this, so it's somewhat kind of complicated and in depth to learn. Nothing time, practice, and research won't take care of. Not unlike trying to learn to play a new instrument, which is really all this is.I'm just a hobbyist, so I can't speak as to how well this would perform on stage, but for casual use, the creativity and abilities this brings out is endless.
