A little bit goes a long way!
I'm using this to treat rust on an '83 chevy truck. I think it's working much better than the Rustoleam Rust Reformer which I was using for a while before switching to this. Although the rustoleum product was much easier to use, rust came back in several spots. I cleaned those spots up and applied the CRC Rust Converter and so far no rust!I was also worried that I would burn through a quart really fast, and at $30 or so a bottle, it's not cheap. However, I've done several spots on the exterior body, the floor panels, the frame rails and the gas tank with this CRS Rust Converter and I still have a lot of the bottle left. Very good stuff!

Amazing Product!
I've used this product for about 30 years. It has changed brands (or distributors) several times over the decades. I'm still amazed (and now my 17 year old son is amazed) at how it just gets rid of the rust - almost effortly. It leaves behind a great surface ready to be painted (or sanded then painted). My most recent use was for outdoor furniture - it turned out great. Keep in mind that you should not return the product to the original container, and that you will probably need to discard the brush, etc. after application. And I always use gloves and eye protection when applying this or any other chemical.

Looks good, and as it doesn't gunk up everything
This seems to work very well. Used this on the underside of my truck. Looks good, and as it doesn't gunk up everything, you can still turn a wrench under there. As this is a chemical reaction, and the label says temperature between 50-90F, I did wait until the weather warmed up to the mid 60's before applying. I cleaned off the surface rust with a scraper and wire brush. Sprayed the underside of my truck with a garden sprayer in two coats. it has turned all rusted surfaces black. Wear a mask, especially working under something. Cleanup is easy with just water. We'll see how it stands up to east-coast weather and salt.

Worked well to prime outdoor gas line.
Used this to prime some 1” outdoor exposed gas fittings and black pipe. Worked quickly and converted the slight amount of rust on the lines left after it was installed. Sections of the black pipe were still covered in the protective coating and needed to be stripped as the converter would not activate without direct contacts with the slightly rusted metal. Dried quickly and seemed to provide a strong base for the oil paint I applied the next day.

hopefully does as it says it will.
I received and applied this product with apprehensive thoughts. I read through many other reviews and understood I needed gloves, glasses and to prep the surface I intended on applying it to. Which happened to be mostly frame and some body spots on our truck which is almost 4 years old but is subjected to copious amounts of road salt during winters in WNY. My apprehension started after applying the "first coat" (manufacturer says to do two) and not seeing the ruat turn "black." It did change colors, more specifically turn darker in "rust orange." I also observed after the fist coat dried, it left a mild sheen on spots it was applied to like it was leaving a protective coating. I applied the first coat to areas I prepper by rinsing with clean water then brushed heavily blistered areas with a stainless brush and wiped free of dust, dirt and debris. After this first coat, I heavily sprayed on a second coat with a pump action sprayer coating all surfaces (not just those showing rust) hoping the layer would prevent any further rust from occurring. As my headline states, I hope it works. I trust in CRC products and believe they perform as described, well we'll see come April when things thaw out.

This stuff eats rust !
Used this on the under side of my pick-up. This liquid works way better than the aerosol sprays. Works best if you first wash to remove dirt and then wire brush the rust spots to remove loose scale. I used a spray gun, but I'll use a brush on my next project so that I can control the coverage better. Next will be a coating of Fluid Film to prevent any rust from coming back.

Good stuff
Great price for the quantity you get. It is thin, but still works good (also dries faster for the second coat). A little goes a long way, and really stops rust if used correctly. I use on my car as a bondo, fiberglass, or paint rust-killing primer when fixing rust holes or spots. Works on any surface rust. Stains anything, wear gloves.

Disappointed
I bought this based on price, expecting that it would work as well as Kleen Strip rust converter. CRC turns rusty metal a deep orange, not black; and a second coat doesn't really seem to do much. The orange wipes off, so something isn't working. I liked being able to wipe down my black bumper and hitch to get the rust off, and then not need to paint when the Kleen Strip turned black. My prep before applying has always been to take off the chunks and leave a dusting of rust so the chemical reaction can take place. I would trade my gallon of CRC for a pint of Kleen Strip.
