I love 'em...
I recently received these and I love 'em. I use them in my oatmeal as well as in dishes with wild rice and/or quinoa. It also makes a nice addition to dessert or meat dishes, especially pork or turkey... or of course as a snack :)At any rate, I find these delicious.. not too dry, but also not any noticeable "wetness". I have read of other selections that reviewer's complain juice or water is in the package. That isn't true for these. They do not have to be soaked for most uses as they do retain a certain moisture content. They do not have that "bite" which you expect from fresh cranberries. I expect that is why growing/marketing groups add the sugar to promote them as a snack. In my own mind, I'd love to find "just cranberries" dried, but I have never seen them offered.I received them promptly and reasonably packaged. (They were part of a multi-item order). Shipping is expensive, but if you can find several items to pack together, it makes for a more reasonable deal. JR Mushroom has a large list of items it sells if you go to their page. I like my experience from JR Mushroom, but most items received seems to be packed by OliveNation. I'm not sure of the connection.I will say that in my experience with J R Mushroom's products they have been great. Its kind of a pain to be sure you're getting them from JR.. you have to go to the "xxx new" link and scan down the vendors until you find JR Mushroom, then click "add to cart" for each item until you're done. It's particularly important that you're buying all from the same vendor if you're grouping a purchase for shipping-cost savings. The pricing is reasonable.. certainly you're not restricted here as MANY stores now carry "dried cranberries". I put that in quotes because you have to be careful what you're buying. Almost all have added sugar (as these do) and added vegetable-based oil (which I'm pretty sure these do.. isn't on the package nor the description, but I think I detect something). If you have dried cranberries at your local stores (most "supermarkets" now carry them) you'd have to price it to see which is the better deal. I find the products to be similar to these. But if you don't have them available, you can order these with confidence.
