Good but you'll need a hot glue gun for the pieces to stay together
these are fun but the pieces are not built to stick together. Not one piece had a naturally snug fit, I had to use a glue gun to hold the pieces together. Regular craft glue and wood glue didn't work well because you would have to hold the pieces together while it dries, hot glue worked ok though, just had to be careful so you don't end up with glue bumps or "clots" . With the added need of glue gun I would say this is only appropriate for ages 12+ with supervision. Good thing I'm in my 30's ha. The finished dinos were bigger than I expected the longest one was about a foot long and 6 inches tall.

There are better options
Let me start out by saying that these kits are adorable and you can put them together, HOWEVER, compared to another set I got these were a nightmare to put together. There is no way on this earth that a kid could manage this on their own, least of all because you'd need glue. The first issue, the instructions are just a number system as the rest of the instructions are in Japanese? I know it's clearly marked that way, but normally there are English instructions with kits like these...Not in this one. The number system isn't as organized as it could be, but after a bit of work you can suss out how things go.That isn't the biggest issue, however, it's the fact that not all the pieces are cut all the way through the wood leaving you to jimmy rig your way through the rest of the wood in order to free that piece. I legit had to saw into the wood to free a few pieces that wouldn't pop free on their own and I did crack a few simply because they wouldn't come free.Naturally, because the pieces weren't so easy to pop free I was left with a bit of a mess and puzzle pieces that didn't look nearly as smooth or 'finished' as the others with splinters here or there. So on a whole, I wouldn't recommend this set from an assembly standpoint, however, if you're okay with working hard on setting these suckers up they're pretty darn cute.

Perfect coronavirus home activity!
This was the perfect challenge for my builder of a 12 year old. The instructions were a little hard to decipher because there are many steps in one diagram and you have to figure out the order they go in before you start or you will be taking it apart. My son has done many of these type of kits and this one is one of the best. He only needed my help attaching the arms. He is an experienced puzzle doer/ lego kid. I think this kit might be difficult for a child that isn't wired that way. Thanks for getting it here in time for first day of self-isolation!

Great gift for older kids!
Great gift idea! Too advanced for my 5 year old, the pieces come on a sheet and you have to pop them out. Pieces are not numbered but there is a map of which piece is where. Most of what makes it hard to assemble is having to cross reference the instructions to the map of pieces. I let my kids help me color the pieces before we pop them out, so our robots kind of look like rainbow barf, but my son likes to play with them. We glued the heads on but otherwise the wood pieces clip together pretty tight and I am impressed with how well everything fits together and how nice it looks.

Bigger that I thought
I thought the puzzles would only be a few inches wide but they're huge, so I have no place to out them. I also thought after over a decade, these puzzles would be made better, but they're not. They still break easily and are hard to pop out of the wood. I have to use an Exacto knife and a file to make the pieces fit.
