I just love this bow!
I loved archery, as a kid. Launching an arrow straight up, realizing what a bad idea that was; running in abject terror. Good times. Now that I'm older and sometimes wiser, I wanted to take the hobby back up, and share it with my kids. I purchased this bow, and it is incredible fun.The riser is really beautiful wood, and the finish is flawless. The thumbscrews for the limbs make setup and takedown easy, yet the hold the limbs in a rock solid manner. The bow stringer included makes setup easy and uneventful... Well, after I broke down and actually read the instructions. The bow sight is super easy to use (Just move the sight towards where the arrows group until they all go in the middle), and removes with a thumbscrew for ease of storage. The arrow rest is a cheap stick on plastic bit (The riser has a standard fitting for fancy rests), but I'll be darned if it doesn't work just fine. The only things you need are arrows, and whatever nocks you want for the string, to get going. The bow is a joy to use - very light, but rock solid. I got the 35lb draw weight for targets, and so the kiddos could use it. The draw is smooth and effortless. The draw seems to be ~29 inches, but if your offspring's arms aren't that long, it still works excellent. Really drills the arrows in, and for thirty yard practice, it pretty much shoots flat. I was surprised how easy it was to get great groupings. It's also pretty quiet without string silencers - No buzzing or other odd sounds that certain bows make.Broken down, the bow is super easy to transport. I also like that all the fittings for accessories like the sight, arrow rest, stabilizer are all standard. If you care to, you could really trick the bow out, but I've found all the included accessories work perfectly well. All in all, it is a solid bow that punches well above its weight in value and looks great.Update: Bow continues to impress - I keep getting better and better with it (Clearly, the bow is more accurate than I am). Waxed the string, added to otter string silencers (also found out otters are apparently delightfully fluffy), and it is ridiculously silent now. I pick it up and use it in the yard way more than I thought. No wear on the string.

Great novice-intermediate bow for a great price.
My wife and I both are avid bow-shooting enthusiasts. We shoot regularly in our back yard, and go to the local park where there is a range shooting up to 60 yards out. My 45 lb bow does pretty well, but the mounts for a sight aren't especially good and I often have to cant the bow via dead reckoning to achieve the distance. My wife also has a 35 lb bow which does not allow for sights - and so she too runs into this issue. Together, we spent well over $500 on our bows, and those didn't include sights. We took this bow out today to shoot to test it out. At the 20, 30, and then the 40 yard range. Here are some of our impressions:- Make absolutely sure you take the bow in to get nocked at a pro shop. You will thank me later. It not only makes shooting the bow easier, but it also make it safer to fire.- The brace height is approximately 7.4 inches as it's base install ( you can increase this by adding more twists to the top of your string ).- This bow LOVES carbon fiber arrows with feather fletches. Don't buy cheap arrows with plastic "toy" fletches - you won't get accuracy ).- With a standard .35 grain field tips - the bow has pretty decent stopping power. This is enough to deploy on most situations and get your arrows stuck into wood requiring some force to pull them out. If you want to shoot at a longer range, lighter arrows will achieve this, but we didn't test them out )- The arrow rest is ok, but without the string properly nocked, we lost several feathers. This is due to either the arrow making too much contact with the bow during flight ( you can use baby powder to check for contact ), or our arrows need to be re-fletched. I'm sure it's a combination of both heavily leaning on the latter, so I won't fault the bow. My wife might opt to remove this entirely and use a felt or horse hair arrow rest - which may smoothen the flight. Since we shoot with feather fletched arrows - this is ideal.- The draw is smooth and we were able to achieve good accuracy with the bow. Most people who experience bad accuracy are shooting incorrectly ( don't grip the handle! Cradle it so that it moves freely.- Breaking down the bow is easy, and we are super glad this came with a stringer.- The sights are easy to manage and for all practical purposes are great. We will in all likelihood mark the locations of the sights so that we can adjust for distance on the fly.I was able to achieve a 14 inch pattern at 20 yards without the use of proper nocks. This wasn't necessarily easy, but it speaks a lot about how "complete" the bow is. My wife enjoys it and was able to achieve a slightly larger pattern, but like me - really wants to nock the string asap to ensure a proper alignment of the arrow on each flight. We love the bow, and it's a great novice-intermediate bow for someone who is moving up from a youth bow and into something with a little more punch without getting punched in the wallet.

Good overall purchase
Bought this as a Christmas gift. He very much enjoyed it. Well made, easy to assemble and use. Only downside is the stick on arrow rests are really crap. Best to buy a spring loaded arrow rest and use the screw to secure it. The adhesives are garbage. Also, this bow works best with a bow stringer. Bow stringers are not that easy for kids with short reach and not a lot of strength. We got a 35 lb bow and it was just at the cusp of him being able to string it with my help. Overall very pleased. Just make sure to pick the right directional bow (right or left hand) and test your eye and hand dominance before buying. In my sons case it was a cross dominance and he needed a left handed bow after we bought a right. Who Knew!
