Worked for two months, then engine lights came on. Replaced with Toyota part for $31.00. Cleared lights.

Amazon/vendor claims this fits 14 4Runner. I had p0456 code small evap leak. The rubber seal on this is way more rounded, different than my failed gas cap. Thought it would work. Nope. Bought other oem cap from other vendor for more and noted the seal rubber was an entirely different shape…. And immediately stopped the small leak code. This part may work just fine…. But not on my 5th Gen. 4Runner. Make sure you get the oem part number from Toyota first. These gas caps look similar but subtle differences make a big difference. Don’t think it’s your charcoal canister until you make sure you have the correct gas cap replacement! The gas cap rubber fails at 8-10 years just like my old 2003 tundra.See photos: my second photo with the smaller seal and more threads? That’s the correct cap for 14 4Runner. First one is not correct. Threads but does not seal. I hope this helps save some time. This was way too big of a headache than it needed to be!
