Avoid at All Costs: The 'Hatching Time' Quail Cage Nightmare
I am not lying when I say this; The process of building this cage almost made me take my own life. As someone who suffers from depression and can't afford any help, I took to the internet and a wonderful new hobby presented itself. Raising quail with certainly raise my serotonin levels. The first incubator I bought broke, I spent over a $100 on a brooder box that had electrical issues, I broke four eggs moving them into the new incubator, I overfermented my feed, and started preparing it two weeks to early. Then the light bulb in my new brooter box blew up right as this cage arrived at my doorstep. I was excited to hurry up and build it. So I can be done with all of this nonsense and move on with my life. As soon as the first divider piece went into place, The problems started. Cage number one snapped together just fine, As soon as cage number two was introduced, All of the holes misaligned. To add insult to injury, The holes that were designated for the studs were filled with plastic material. I tried to lie everything up as best. I could and lightly tapped with the mallett. I heard a crunch. Evidently this plastic is more bridal than advertised. I ended up putting everything together as best I could and then zip tide the cage together. This was before I realized there was four support beams that needed to be installed. Not one single support beam lined up with any of the holes in any of the cages. They were off by more than four millimeters. I literally had to bend the support rods, Negating their support. Finally I had the damn thing together. Next was the water system. You need to physically pull the plastic catch bowls Apart until they almost snap before you can get them around the water dispenser. Once I had everything together. I took it all outside and tested out the water dispenser. As I poured a gallon of water into the reservoir, A gallon of water immediately spilled out of the other end of the water unit. That's when I began to cry hysterically and held a sharp knife at my throat for over an hour. What do I have to show for all of this pain and turmoil? Three hundred dollars worth of plastic coat hangers zip tide together. I'm so pissed off that I can't even physically bring myself to return it. I can't physically disassemble it because of all of the pain and frustration assembling. It was in the first place. If I had a lawyer, I would sue the company. I really hope my quails take to it, If not this will probably be my last review.

Great but terrible to put together
The cage once assembled is great but the assembling part... not so much I'm pretty sure every curse word you can imagine came out putting this together holes didn't line up wouldn't pop in ended up using zip ties to secure it. If you like building stuff that will piss you off this is it.

faulty product, but customer service was great
i bought this pen as a starter enclosure. this company has great reviews and i thought this would be perfect for starting out. the quality of the material is nice, but the molding job they did on the holes and pegs is a bit wonky. we had to use a blow dryer to even get the pegs to fit into eachother. i did contact the company about this though and their customer service was phenomenal. it seems i just got a wonky product, and they worked with me to make it right. i’m hoping next time around i don’t have these issues, as this cage is very convenient.

Brilliant -- Thank You So Much
This is a well thought out piece of engineering that has the safety and need for privacy in mind especially for quail. It's short to limit their ability to hurt themselves. Keeps their food and water clean and fresh at all times even if you are stuck in town due to a snow storm. The soft plastic keeps there feet healthy, allows them to keep clean, and is sturdy enough for a 120 lb woman to do boat pose on the upturn short side to push it all together. It's worth the hour or two putting together. I suggest a rubber mallet to pop the plastic pins in the holes, and some hot boiling water to get the red watering peices to fit onto the irrigation pipe.

Terrible assembly, NOT predator- proof
The good news: once it is actually together, it's super sturdy and has a well thought out design and features. The bad news: Assembly is awful. Every single step had a design flaw. There are arrows to help line up the first pieces; when you're stuck you realize that some of the arrows are on the inside, and some on the outside. Clear as mud.The pegs line up to the holes for putting side pieces on... kinda. As in when the plastic comes all bent out of shape, then you hammer one side in and the other pops out.3 holes for the casters were fine; number 4 was mis-threaded.You'll need to cut one of the hoses for the watering system. Much too long for the first layer, but definitely if adding a layer it would be too short. The screen for the feeding trough is too short to sit up on the sides, but too long to sit inside the trough.Opening the doors you need to lift over the trough, which is fine since it's a little flexible. However it doesn't really "fit".The top support grid was about a half inch too wide... we had to bend it upwards to get all 4 corners in. This does mean if we add another layer eventually, the new waste tray will not sit level and will likely rock from side to side.Overall it still has the best features of any cage I shopped but the company really needs to take note of the assembly issues. It would be an easy thing to lose some of the connection issues and just put it together with clips like other products of this material. It absolutely does not snap together as easily as in the instruction video. Do not expect that.**Edit to add update: it's August, I purchased in March, and we've lost half our quails to predators. We figure probably a raccoon, but they're smart so every time I fixed a weak point they were able to figure out another way. At first the quail died from injuries where something was able to reach in, but now they're actually able to get the quail out. Last night they just pulled open a panel from the back, which is infuriating since it was so hard to assemble it should've been stuck for life. No point to a cage when you have to build another cage around it. RIP Maggie. Can't use the watering system- 15 tiny quail will not drink enough fast enough, and you get algae. Keep it low and it doesn't work unless there's at least an inch of water. Of course you have to disconnect the system entirely to empty the container.A single 3 1/2 foot wide waste tray is awful to pull out and balance to empty. Awkward!Overall, I have loved raising quail so far, but this cage itself has given me so many problems that I don't know if I'll continue. It was quite an investment and didn't fulfill the most basic requirements.
