It does what a plunger wouldn't.
I'm glad I waited to write this review. My first attempts at using this tool were met with difficulty, but after a few adjustments suggested in the literature that came with it, along with becoming more flexible by multiple uses, it's faster and easier than any plunger that I've ever used to unplug a toilet.I have a low flow toilet with with very sharp turns in the flush plumbing so anything over 4" long hangs up on the first turn in the plumbing causing frequent blockages. The exit in the bottom of the toilet is elongated with a length close to 6" and standard plungers won't completely cover it preventing pressure on the push or suction on the pull. Being in doubt if a larger 6" plunger head would cover enough of the exit drain to work like plungers are supposed to, I saw the possibility of this dredge plunger either being able to reach the blockage and pushing it past the tight turn in the plumbing, or creating water pressure that would as the edges of the dredge head came into contact with the edges of the toilet drain. So like I said in my opening of this, my first few uses were a bit difficult. The tip of the head wouldn't go in far enough to reach the blockage and it wasn't creating the positive water pressure I expected it to. Seeing that the size of the two rings of the head, closest to the handle were bigger than the exit drain in the toilet causing it to stop before reaching the blockage. So I trimmed them according to the directions that came with it. On my next experience with it, the rigidity of the neck and head of it made it very difficult to reach the blockage. However it did after enough force was used with concerns it could break and remain stuck in the drain. Well, it didn't break, but I was ready to give it a one star due to the difficulty of the force needed for it to work. The good news is, that now that I've had it 3-4 months and it's been used several times, the head of it has formed a slight curvature, the neck of it has become more flexible, it hangs discretely along side the toilet on the hook that came with it hidden by the shower curtain and now when it's needed, it's a one gentle push clearing of any blockages. Compared to the 3 plus pushes of a regular plunger if you're lucky, the dredge gets a 5-star rating now that it's been properly modified and broke in. At least for toilets with blockages from human excretions. However Kohler can stick their low flow toilet up their toilet seat warmer. At least the low cost model I bought.

User Friendly and Easy.
Uncomplicated. Easy. I have tried so many ways to deal with plugged up toilets. I am a baby boomer and it's not easy for me to problem solve these kinds of annoyances. I don't have the physical strength to perform some tasks. Plungers just don't work, pouring products down don't work. I never have huge problems, but sometimes I just need to unstuck some accumulated TP. I also absolutely don't want a contraption that I have to negotiate. I spent a fair amount of time looking at all the options on Amazon and settled on this product. So simple and user friendly. It worked in less than 10 seconds. This was Exactly what i was looking for.

Better than the usual plunger
I've only had to use it once so far.It still takes a few tries to clear the toilet drain, but better than the usual plunger. It came out reasonably clean after use. I put dish detergent in the bowl to clean it with the plunger & the plunger itself. The plastic bag and hanging bag provides convenient storage.I'll upgrade or downgrade the rating when I use it sgain.

Awesome!
Last time I had a plumber come they charged me $225 to use the snake on the toilet! This new low water toilet is a real pain and I think maybe I found the answer thank you so much!

No stand/holder
These things work much better than plungers. You just push it down instead of hoping you get the right seal on your toilet.I bought this because the brand of this thing that I owned before is no longer sold. I was shocked when it arrived and it came with a weirdly fancy cover, but it did not come with any kind of cup or stand to rest in next to a toilet. I am not sure what the plan is for such a thing since it can’t stand on its own like a plunger, so either you lay it on the ground or hopefully you have hidden storage under your bathroom’s sink, which I don’t have in the bathroom this is for.

Material rips and leaves you worse off
The rubber part of the bend area ripped and the shroom part is now lodged in the toilet exactly where the image shows it should be. Nightmare situation!!

Worth every penny! Best way to unclog a toilet!
I know own two of these wonderful products. I'll admit my first review of this product was scathing and I only gave it one star because I didn't think it worked. There is break in period with this product. That's not to say that it doesn't work right out of the box but it gets easier and more effective the more you use it. Out of the box the rubber flaps on this product are still and rigid. As time goes on the product will begin to soften allowing the rubber end to conform to your toilet. Be patient the first few times you use this product until it has a chance to break in. This product doesn't make a mess. There is no blow back and this won't cause your toilet to over flow. My kids routinely clog multiple toilets in my house which is why I now own two of these things. I have yet to encounter a toilet these can't unclog within five minutes or less. The only drawback to this product is that it is somewhat difficult to clean. Poop gets stuck on the rubber flaps and getting it clean can be a process. I have found the best way is to pour bleach over the tip after the toilet is unclogged. Then I swish the rubber tip around in the toilet bowl to get as much of the poop off as I can. Lastly, I take the thing out to the sink in my garage and spray it with high pressure water to get everything off of it. Be advised that this product doesn't work on all toilets. The base of your toilet should look like the toilet on the product page.
