Decent sound for the price
For the price, I suppose it isn’t bad for a sound bar. Sound quality for TV/movies is a 6/10. Music is about a 5. My real issue with this system is that the bass is very bad. Unless you max the volume, you won’t be feeling or even hearing bass. And before you go on telling me to read the manual, I did; bass is at max setting and there are no knobs or anything else on the bass unit itself. I would say this could be a great budget set up, especially if you got 2 more speakers for surround sound. I would definitely buy a separate bass, however. Even with the remote and all the settings, it does NOT sync to your TV at all. I fiddled with the settings for a very long time and I couldn’t get it to match the TV. It works ONLY sometimes with the TV volume. In the end, I just decided to mute the TV and play from the sound bar only. Then again, I can’t really blame the product for This since I don’t even have a proper receiver for all of the audio components. It’s simply just plugged into the TV. It’s enough for my living room and I am happy with it. My only tip is; DONT expect amazing sound. It’s certainly a budget system from a good brand. Again, for the price, 8/10.

Works fine.
Well when We picked this up I'd read a whole lot on this one and many other's. (I think rting's dot com is the most useful for this) With that said what it came down to for us was the sale price, and even more off for the open box. I took a chance and this time it paid off. This was sold as an open box but in fact it wasn't ever opened until I unboxed it, every part was still sealed. The best part is it just worked, I mean no issues at all....after all the reading I fully expected at least a modicum of trouble with it....but there was none. Maybe just lucky but it worked just as it is supposed to after being hooked up. I'll take the win for a change. Now for the sound, we find it exactly what we bought it for which was just to improve the living room telly. It does that very nicely, there are quite a few ways to dial the sound in for whatever your taste may be for what is on screen at the time. That being said, remember, this is a decent improvement in the plain stock television sound. It is more than adequate for that, it is NOT a full blown home theater or even a nice home surround sound system, nor is the cost anywhere near those things. As long as your expectations are in line for what this is, you will be pleased with how it can sound.I have a home theater downstairs that is fairly decent. This is not that, but it is just what we wanted it for, and are happy with it for that purpose. As long as it stays working like it does now, it's a very nice improvement. I will update if I can as far as long term functionality.

Fantastic device great sound
Love it, only thing that is a hassle is the volume button on the remote, when changing volume up or down it really easy to accidentally push in on the button making the volume mute. That makes me miss what's said on the TV show. So I gotta hurry up and unmute it by pushing in on the button again. Just think it would be better if the mute was a separate button.

Update to review
After reading many reviews, I bought the HW-B650. Setup was easy, despite my peculiar needs. To connect a blu-ray player and an Amazon Firestick to an older model Sony flat panel TV, I needed a powered HDMI switch to connect to the soundbar, then to the TV. Very impressive sound; solid subwoofer without booming. I may add the rear speakers at a later time for full surround sound. That optional upgrade was key to my decision to buy the Samsung. (This review is after less than a week of use, by the way.) Note that an optical cable is included, but not an HDMI.Update after nearly one month:I downgraded my review to one star because I had to return the purchase. All of a sudden, when playing a DVD or Blu-ray disc it would play normally, then after 10 minutes or so, the bar turned itself off. This occurred when I connected it to my TV directly with HDMI or optical cable. No attempt to correct this problem made any difference. Samsung Tech support is a bad joke, BTW. Don't expect any help there. Maybe I was unlucky and got a lemon... but I won't be considering a Samsung product again.

Great Value and Sound!
I just purchased a new 8000 series Samsung TV. The sound wasn't quite up to par. This soundbar deal, which I purchased 'Like New', gave my media center new life. I connected it by optical cable which is not the best connection according to the instructions. However all 3 of my HDMI ports were full. No biggie. It paired flawlessly with my TV and Nvidia Shield along with Xbox. My previous soundbar was not a Samsung, and I had connection issues. I now want the rear speakers to wrap up my system. The sound is fantastic, I listened to some concerts on YouTube Premium and the soundbar and bass speaker performed Great! There are some customizable settings you can play with with the remote. The surround sound is awesome as well. Easily, all can be controlled with the Smart things App by Samsung. For the price I paid, this system hits the spot!Edit: 5/20/23I purchased the rear speakers and it completes the package. I should have bought the system from the beginning and saved a few bucks. I got some speaker stands as well. All paired easily with the push of a button. Great Samsung products working in harmony! I just heard thunder from my left rear speaker and the realism is truly magnificent.
