Effective grinding
I am an avid deer hunter and each year have plenty of venison to grind and to follow up with sausage making. This grinder is fast, effective , easy to set up and easy to clean. Unfortunately after only three uses the fan came off the shaft and the grinder heated. I emailed the address provided in the manual and the company immediately sent a replcement. Excellent service. The sausage maker goes on a regular plate which means the meat is ground again and the center of the sausage forms a hollow in it. The meat has to be maunally compressed in the casing to eliminate this hollow. Conclusion - excellent for grinding meat, not the best for sausage making.

I am a professional chef and I grind my own hamburger meat with a hand grinder. This is an amazing grinder. Easy to clean easy to assemble. Ground 10 pounds of chuck roast and 10 pounds of brisket twice 38 minutes round-trip Highly recommended. Cut your meat in long strips instead of cubes semi frozen it feeds itself.

I’ve used this grinder 3 times and have had no issues. Do watch that you don’t get the blade on backwards. There is an illustration of the correct way on the feed tube plus you’ll know by the racket it makes as the blades drag across the auger. I would recommend that the meat you are grinding be barely thawed or extremely cold and firm. The blade cuts better and stays cool so you don’t start cooking the meat (grey meat). I’m definitely satisfied at this point but will it be able to handle the 5-10 lbs I grind a couple of times a week for my dogs? Fingers crossed!
