Light weight efficient transformerless design
This 300 watt amplifier replaced my SA240 and I guess it’s more powerful but the gain adjust knob must be calibrated differently because for the same subwoofer volume I have it set above halfway whereas my 240 watt was set below halfway. Sounds OK but there is something to be said for the older style heavy transformer amps versus the newer D-Class amps.

A LOT of bass (once it finally got here).
Got this today, as a replacement for a blown amp on a 17 year old REL T2. Had a lot of time waiting, so I already had a 1" thick back fitted to the cabinet.. Installed amp, and spent a bit of time getting it set up with KEF LSX powered speakers. Did not need the +6 boost at 30hz. Used the KEF app to adjust the x-over points and any trim. WAY more bass than the REL "200 watt" amp. High pass at 70hz; low pass at 65. +1 on bass boost (+2-10 just not needed). That was it, so far. Sounded good! Plug & play, basically. Now, complaints...I ordered this 9 days ago. I am not complaining about not getting 1 day shipping, or 2 day shipping. And I understand that things can go awry. But all last week, Amazon was still advertising "2 day shipping" on this unit. I theoretically could have re-ordered it on Wednesday, received it Friday, and just sent back this unit when it came in (the following Monday). It appears they were promising to new customers while reneging on deals with existing customers. 2 chats yielded promises to "expedite" the order, but that didn't happen. I hope nothing goes wrong with this amp, because I don't want to go into Amazon shipping hell again.Update after a couple of days…on some modern pop, too much bass at +1. Rock, blues, most jazz great. Reggae 👍. Organ music is big, and low volume anything is good. I can adjust on the fly for pieces with too much bass, so thumbs up on the amp.Update 2 weeks later...still too much bass, so -2 on the volume, high pass still at 70hz, but low pass at 60hz. Sounds very good! One last comment, one month in…the Auto On/Off is slow to come on if the music is quiet-ish or lacking much bass. I now leave it On all the time; instructions say that’s costing me 8.5 watts. This seems like something that should be properly engineered out by now.

Replace the amp and save the world
The pilot light on the amp stopped working after being plugged in and running in auto mode for a few weeks. The amplifier itself is still working fine. I was able to avoid trashing a perfectly good Polk enclosure and driver by replacing the amp with this unit.

I'm satisfied with this amp.
Used this to replace the amplifier of a decent sounding, but dead subwoofer.Very happy with the price and results. I am not an audiophile, just a movie listener, so your results may vary.

Amp died after less than 2 months
This product worked great until it didn’t. It lasted 2 months then died. I’m beyond frustrated as this had great reviews. But when i get the amp it worked great until today and it died. I haven’t been pushing it too hard or anything. But yet today it dies. Of course on the day it is the last day to return. I’ve always heard Dayton was a good brand but today the capacitor shorted and zapped the hell out of me while trying to figure out why it wouldn’t turn on even though it ran for that last couple weeks. Today it wouldn’t turn on at all. Then when looking at it. It zapped me like crazy. Don’t buy this amp unless you can afford constant replacement. This amp is trash. I’ve only had two months of use at less than half power. Don’t buy unless you have time to swap many times. I’ll update the review after the company fixes the issue. If they don’t this review will stay as this product currently in my opinion is trash.

Very nice for the price
I have it running two old 150w rms 10" Pioneer Premier DVC subs that are wired at 2 ohm each, in series for 4 ohm total. This amp is pretty much an perfect fit for them, power wise. It hits hard and clear! I mounted the amp to a generic aluminum "electronics project box" and have the USB powering a small fan to keep the box from getting hot. Before getting this, I was thinking about getting 2 upgraded power supplies for the two smaller amps I had, one for each sub, to get their RMS up to the spec of the subs. This amp was cheaper than the 2 power supplies. So now I can repurpose or maybe sell those amps.I do wish there was a way to make the USB turn off when in Auto/standby or off. The only way is to unplug or flip the main switch off. If the main power switch is on, it doesn't matter which mode the secondary power switch is on, off, auto, or on, the USB would always be on. It's not a huge deal for me, because I normally leave it unplugged anyway. But I do see that as a disadvantage in other situations.

good replacement
I had an old expensive subwoofer in my system. When it broke I was debating sending it for repair, which seems to be ridiculous expensive. A newer model would be even more expensive. Since the problem was with the electronic I also did not want to waste the chassis and the speaker itself. So I stumbled over this subwoofer plate amplifier. Since this one is only a fraction of the cost as any other options I had, I gave it a try. By simply removing the old amplifier and mounting the new one ( needs a small frame I built ) it worked like a charm. Even with the 300W rating it creates a lot of clear sounding bass. This is a perfect replacement when you are on a low budget. It has all the knobs you need to tune and integrate it into your audio system. Requires a bit calibration to seamlessly work in your audio setup. It runs also from 120-240 Volts in case you live in Europe. I'm a happy customer now, every penny well spent.
