Normcore 58mm Magnetic Dosing Funnel - Espresso Coffee Dosing Ring - 15mm Anodized Aluminum with 9 magnetized Steel Compatible with 58mm Portafilter

Arrived yesterday and made my first two mess free espressos today. Have a Gaggia Classic Pro with the 58mm portafilter that comes with it and this fits really well on the outside of the 'cup' so no intrusion into the coffee. Magnets easily clamp it into place and strong enough to hold it firmly in place but not so firmly you can not get them apart. If the magnets were any stronger then that may be an issue. It's black, looks smart with my set up. Good value for money and does the job perfectly.

Strong enough magnets to lift the portafiler but easy to remove, fits the gaggia classic evo pro 2023 standard portafiler perfectly and also fits under my Eureka Mignon Specialita Coffee Grinder, I've got the Normcore range, tamper etc, and they're all exceptional quality.

This works fine and does the job you'd expect, but the magnets don't exactly "click" into place on the portafilter. They are not strong magnets. Despite there being nine in total, the hold is not strong. That's my only complaint.

Older reviews make it clear that previous versions of this item had trouble with the magnets being too weak. I can confirm the version I received had magnets strong enough to secure the funnel to the portafilter while being weak enough that I didn't accidentally lift my ridgeless basket.Aside from this, the tolerances mean that it wiggles around a bit on the portafilter but I haven't found any way in which this impacts its utility. I specifically bought this so I could use a WDT tool without spilling coffee outside the basket and it performs this task very well.

My dosing cup is a lot smaller than my Gaggio Classic Pro (58mm box standard, with original basket) portafilter, this is a great tool to disperse freshly ground coffee from my Normcore V2 hand grinder to the portafilter without a mess, especially if you fluff/WDT as part of your process. This is a bit on the expensive side but Normcore is a brand I trust and contrary to some of the reviews here, I can confirm the magnet is strong and doesn't move around (at least for me). I can manage to WDT and tamp with this funnel ring on.

Poor item, magnets are extremely weak to the point it doesn't hold in place, the slightest touch and it moves. Considering the price and how much this brand is spoken about on social media I'd expect much better. A cheaper alternative I've purchased does work alot better.Update. Since leaving this review I was contacted by the seller who asked me a few questions about my issue with the product and sent out a replacement. The replacement is different to what was delivered the first time but does work alot better, it is slightly loose so wiggles around but that is really minor. so I have adjusted my rating and raised it to 3 stars. Deducted one star for the initial issue with the first one ( I can't justify not taking a star off for it, even though i am extremely happy with the way they reached out to me and sent a replacement, it was a true example of excellent customer service ) and 1 star for the the wiggle it has when it is on the basket ( works perfectly fine with the wiggle but does take away from the premium feel of it when it wiggles) . If they manage to fix the wiggle it has when on the basket and send this replacement out the first time there would be no reason for this to not be a 5* product for other customers.

Nice and grippy but not too strong so it lifts easily after distribution

Great quality, fits perfectly on the outside my Fracino Piccino 58mm basket, leaving no impact in the coffee inside. Only issue I have is the basket I use isn’t very magnetic. Others I have are, but don’t fit my machine, so once I upgrade, it will be perfect.
