Down By The Cool Of The Pool Paperback

I feel I should review this book for the children I worked with during summer camp this year. They were 6 year old EAL learners and they absolutely loved this story. They got so much language and enjoyment out of this book. The brightly coloured illustrations are lovely. The first time I told it to them they looked at me as if I was a little crazy doing all the different sounds, but the accumulative nature meant they quickly learnt the story and were joining in.

This is a great book to share with children aged 4-6 yrs as they really enjoy joining in as some of the text is repepative and rhymes. I also get the children to add in actions for the animals and they way they dance in the story. The illustrations are bright and colourful. A lovely picture book to read for pleasure.

This book is brilliant. I bought 2 copies to give as gifts. I am a teacher and the children love the animals and their different actions, and of course the splash in the water. They never tire of reading it over and over again nor of hearing it read in story time.

had already come across this book and enjoyed reading it to my reception class,they enjoyed it too!Bought it as an easter gift for my two grandchildren who also enfoy the story and the great illustrations

Very entertaining book, arrived as expected.

My daughter is almost 2 and we got this book out of the library. She adores it so much that we have had to buy it, even after renewing it a million times!It has various dancing animals in the book and we have made up actions to do as we read the book. She has even started reciting it herself.

The book is an excellent read for 2-5 years good rhyming and fun to act out they love it

Our 3 year old can't get enough of frog and his friends dancing by the cool of the pool. Our copy is battered and shabby from being read so often. The illustrations are vibrant, the cadences of the wording are just right, and read with the appropriate enthusiasm in the voice, it's a 100% winner.
