Batman 1: Failsafe

I really enjoy chip zdarskys writing and the way this comic was put together. Liked the whole idea of Failsafe and the reason he exists. Things a beast. And then the whole mind angle with Zur it just made for a different read and something i found very fun and not the same old stuff I felt. Loved the colors and way the art is done. Like where the story went towards the end with catwoman and that whole thing,no spoilers and the reading at the lawyer, wink wink. Think anyone's that's read Zdarskys work will like this and even if not, definitely a unfolding many layered story here.

Every page is a joy to see with Jimenez’s art. The story is middling but the art elevates it and the level of drama so much it’s unbelievable.

The story is strong. The art is positively fantastic. Loses its balance in some moments between a desire to be "real" and embracing the ludicrous, something Batman comics have been juggling since I've been reading them. The only real down side to a collection like this is the inevitable lack of resolution. Worth a read, especially for fans.

I know a lot of fans dont care for Failsafe, but this is a great storyline that can be read on its own while not reading the next few volumes. Batman on-the-run has been done before, but never to this extent and truely running for his life. Failsafe feels like an 80s horror monster who just won’t die and is always on Batman’s heels, and yet it’s himself. The ending also gave me major Watchmen vibes. Recommended!

The DC comic is a great series and as a child I really enjoyed all of the comics, exciting and great!

The story and art are fine in my opinion. Thou it it does seriously abuses plot armor for of the story.

Zdarsky kicks off his first arc in grand fashion. This is a great starting point for new fans and also references a ton of Easter eggs from Batman’s history for longtime fans. Highly recommended
