As close to a perfect sheath, as I've ever owned.
Being a left handed person I've always had to settle or compromise, not with this , not anymore. If for no other reason, the fact that it is fully ambidextrous would earn it 5 stars, but it doesn't stop there, and when I say fully,I really do mean fully.Right vertical, left vertical, right or left crossdraw, and left or right scout(small of the back) carry it's got you covered. The construction is excellent, materials are very nice quality I worked several years in an awning and canopy shop so I am very familiar with what quality sewing is supposed to look like, and it looks like this. Attention to detail is evident everywhere on this piece, the inside of the belt loop, the back side of the straps and the in side of the storage pouch are all dyed and finished most makers leave these areas raw, and the edges of the sheath are nicely burnished and smoothed. There's a full perimeter welt around the sheath body to protect that beautiful stitching. The retention strap for the handle is equipped with 2 female snap heads to accommodate handles of different profiles, and the utility pouch is large enough to hold a meaningful sized sharpening stone and a few small items and there's also a small loop to hold a fire starter (not included). I'd give it 6 stars if I could, very seldom does an item exceed my expectations, this one did and then some. A godsend for us left handers and a dam fine sheath for you wrong handed people to. I bought this for my 8 in. D2 tool steel bladed bowie (pictured) specs. on the blade for reference are length 8 inwidth 1 1/2 in. thickness 1/4 in. your blade could be a bit wider and still fit, but 1/4 thick is pushing the upper limit. Hope someone finds this review helpful.

What an excellent product at a great price!!!
I don't write reviews often, but I felt this product deserved my attention. I own a Kbar Wart Hog and this sheath fits like a glove. The craftsmanship is excellent as is the material used to make it. The Wart Hog is a heavy duty field knife, I like that I can carry it in three different ways, horizontal, directly on a belt, and lower on the leg hanging from the included dangler. I am a combat vet and have spent countless months year round in the field. I currently live in the hills of the Ozarks in Southern Missouri surrounded by hollows and twenty heavily wooded acres filled with wild life, this is now my favorite sheath of the many I own. I highly recommend this seller and the product I received. Thanks GCS Custom, I hope that I can find more of your sheaths that fit some of my other kit!!!

Great sheath! BUT BUYER BE Aware...
Very nice sheath, however...Looks like it was thrown together with minor quality control with some parts. One can tell the leather needed some tlc due to the fact that these things have been sittin around a warehouse forever. Not a big fan of rivets inside a sheath because of scratches on the blade anytime it’s removed or put back in. I had to unstitch the whole thing to replace rivets with proper leather stitching. Some don’t mind this but I do mind. I also dyed the leather to a darker color which now looks really great. It’s a very sturdy sheath with thick leather and looks like it could last a very long time. Buyers just be aware before purchase that you may need to make some modifications depending on your preference. Ditched the leather strap it came with and replaced with a longer adjustable one. One can definitely fit some nice size knives in there in terms of width. Would have given 5 stars if it weren’t for these minor things. Other than that it’s pretty decent!

This is an excellent quality sheath
This is an excellent quality sheath. The pouch is a very good size. It will fit one of the smaller altoid cans, but not much else. So, if you don't need the tin, just use a small zip lock bag for your charcloth. In doing so, I was able to also fit a large ferro and magnesium rod, and striker. I'm sure I could pack even more with the remaining space. The main portion of the sheath has some pretty beefy leather that looks like it could take some abuse. It also has a lower horizontal thick loop of leather that holds a standard size ferro rod very tightly. The small strap going around the pouch is actually a backup for the pouch in case it opens accidentally. It's actually held closed via a snap that you really can't see in the picture. Smart thinking since your survival essentials are in there. The only thing that I would change would be the thickness and length of the shoulder strap. I'm trying to figure out the best way to use the shoulder strap. For me, it seems best to strap it diagonally with the sheath held tight to your chest. That feels pretty secure. Though I don't have a tracker blade, the knife I have is a CFK blade that is 9 7/8" overall. By wedging the handle inside the sheath it's held very secure. And by the way, I totally recommend that knife. Great knife for the price. To sum up. If you're looking for a great quality sheath that can accommodate a larger knife, that has a great capacity pouch, this is the one for you. Hands down.P.s.- I have absolutely no affiliation with this company.

Fits 5” tracker knife, fits Ka Bar fighting knife
Love this sheath, thick solid construction. Too big for my current blade project, 5 inch blade seems too small but it’s a tracker knife so the width is perfect. Though bigger than needed it still functions. This could probably hold a bigger knife easily but I wouldn’t go less than a 5 inch knife either. Also, fits a ka bar marine corp knife without issue. Once my tracker knife was done, it looks great in the sheath but it is bulky. Worth it for a tracker knife... great quality and feels solid fyi.

SNAFU!
I ordered this to carry a camp knife in a shoulder rig. I returned it because it didn't come with the shoulder strap. I tried contacting GCS through their page, but I could not find a contact option. After wasting an hour or more trying to find a way to simply have the shoulder strap sentbto me, I gave up. The only resort left to me was to return it. I got the replacement today. What did I get? SNAFU! Another sheath without a shoulder strap! The sheath seems to be of good quality, but I'll be returning this as well.
