Is the flat circle piece on the bottom supposed to be flat or wavy? Mine is wavy. The cord was wrapped around the tongs inside the chime

The bottom part of the Zaphir chime the black circle should be flat. To fix the cord wrapped around the chime the easiest position is to turn the chime upside down so the wringer part falls toward you. In this position there is less tension on the string and it is easier to untangle it from the tines.
