Q: When flying, does this bag fit under the seat? Or does it need to go in overhead compartment?

For the most part, this bag fits underneath an airplane seat, but it may stick out just a bit. It will definitely fit in an overhead compartment. To remind you, if your bag gets heavy with a laptop and documents, I would be careful because my strap broke away from the side stitching to hold the bag while only just a month old with a laptop, folders for business, and a small lightweight cosmetic bag.

Q: I am having a hard time finding a bag for 16 inch laptop, do you think this would have enough room for my macbook pro 2019 16 inch? thank you!

I use mine with a MacBook Air and there is still plenty of room. I would ask the manufacturer to make sure it will meet your needs
