Hello! Ideally for bamboo sticks, you can add water to a plastic bag, put the bamboos inside it and then tie it up with a string. You can then insert the bag with the bamboos inside the vase. Adding water directly to the vase is not recommended as it is made with iron metal and it will rust easily, and reduce the life and beauty of the vase. Hope this helps!!
