Mean and Lean
This mini desktop runs circles around my 12-year-old server in many workloads, despite using only 1/40 of the power and having 1/8 of the cores. It's been running unattended in a closet 1,000 miles away for 10 months now, paired with an OpenWrt router and smart socket, and hasn't had any issues so far.The BIOS settings were not exactly trivial to navigate due to the terminology used to describe certain things, but I've managed to configure everything I needed (such as Secure Boot).Adding a 2.5" disk is a bit of an adventure - you have to be careful when putting the unit back together - but it works fine.SoC temperature has never climbed above 55 degrees, despite being in an unventilated closet. The passive heatsink seems to do an excellent job.If you run Linux on it, you may have to blacklist the `pinctrl_elkhartlake` module, as it seems to crash the kernel on power off.

Replacement computer
This company sent a replacement computer for one which was originally ordered from them and was found to be faulty, the issue was dealt with efficiently and the replacement was in good working order. Good company to deal with .

Compact J6412 device
Quick whats in the box review, bought the J6412 mini pc and have taken it apart to see what comes in the box, ram is ddr4 2666 sodimm 1 slot only, you do get the 2.5” drive sata power and data cable in the box. Vesa mount in bottom of box. Power supply is 12V 5AEdit : have added in crucial 32gb sodimm which worked great, installed truenas scale on a 2.5” drive which is a little tricky to fit but works well.Edit 2 - With a few days to return closure it has now developed an issue on usb3 ports so its going back.

Good little PC for an always-on home server, excellent support.
I asked VENOEN to send this to me with Ubuntu Linux installed instead of Windows 11, and they cheerfully obliged - although I had to get in touch with them after delivery to ask for the password they'd set up. In the end, though, I reinstalled the OS myself due to an over-abundance of caution.I've had this thing running for a year now, with only about ten minutes' down time. It runs on a 12V barrel jack, meaning that battery power is an option. It's fanless and silent in operation, having no moving parts at all. The case (which is a heatsink) gets warm to the touch. This is being used for Nextcloud in my house, with the included SSD being used for the OS and a 2.5" SATA SSD being used as its data store. While there are connections and mounting locations for either, both at once is an impossible squeeze, and I resorted to having the case open with brass risers. The SATA cable would have to occupy the same physical space as the M.2 NVME drive. The 2.5" mounting option is basically bolted to the lid, which probably works for many drives, but not mine - again, I had to use risers to space it out. My photographs don't show those, but do show why they were needed.Normal screw-on antennae were included, as was a VESA mounting kit complete with fasteners. I'm not using either.Performance is good, and hasn't diminished over time. In addition to NextCloud, mine's doubling up as an MPD music player and a Git repository server using Gitea. It comfortably manages the lot. It's a little incongruous seeing USB3 ports right there with the DB9 serial COM ports. I have so far resisted the temptation to retrieve my old serial terminals from the attic...

its even smaller than I expected.
It made the trip from China to courier in the UK even faster than UK courier could get to my house. Very pleased
